Savannah's POV-

I stare out of the airplane window as the ground drops away beneath me. Hopefully this is the last time I set foot on Georgia soil. This place has too many things that I would like to forget.

I shake my head, as if to get the thoughts out of my mind. Just then, the flight stewardess walks by. "Sweetie, would you like anything? Maybe something to drink?"

I just glower at her. She blinks, surprised and a little taken aback, then walks away. The stewards on this flight have to pay special attention to me, because I'm a minor who's flying alone. I know the routine, though. I've flown alone more times than a lot of people have flown.

I lean my head back against the headrest, watching the clouds float by. Before I know it, my eyelids droop and I fall asleep.

Six hours later, I exit the airport, looking for a short redheaded woman. Mrs. Welsh said that she is the head of the boarding house where I'm staying. Her name is Cindy, or something like that.

I scan the crowds of people, without any luck. A hand touches my elbow, and I spin around.

"Miss Savannah?" The woman, who must be Cindy, says.

"Yeah, that's me."

She smiles warmly. "I'm Cynthia Rosenberg, but you can call me C."

Oh, not Cindy. Cynthia. Whatever.

"The car's over in the parking lot."

"Well, it's not in the terminal..." I roll my eyes.

She just smiles again. "I use sarcasm too. C'mon, lets go." She starts walking, without looking back.

I shrug and follow her.
