Savvy's POV:
About a month has passed since Bookfest, and life has gone back to normal. Ally has been checking her email every day, hoping for the movie information, with no luck so far. I have personally given up hope, but I know she's really excited, so I haven't said anything.
My phone buzzes, indicating I have a text:
Ally👽: CHECK EMAIL!!!!!!
I open my laptop and login to my account. I had something from earlier today.

"I have no idea where we're supposed to go." Ally comments.
"Well, how about we ask somebody."
We have just arrived at the set for Gone, and have no idea what we're supposed to be doing. I tap the shoulder of a lady walking by. "Um, excuse me, do you know where the extras are supposed to go?"
"No, sorry, I just work on costumes."
She hurries away, and we wander aimlessly around. Soon, though, some guy with a headset rushes by. He goes past us, then stops and turns around. "You there!" He exclaims, pointing at us. "Who are you? Are you here for the audition?"
"Audition?" Ally starts. "No, we're here to-"
He interrupts her. "You're perfect! What's your name? And agency? I need to contact your manager immediately. Gotta contact the board, tell them the auditions are off." At this point he's mumbling to himself instead of talking to us. "The press will find out soon enough, no worries about that. C'mon, miss."
Then he grabs Ally's arm and starts pulling her to God knows where. "Wait!" She slides out of his grip. "I'm not going anywhere until you tell me who you are, and what's going on."
The man adjusts his glasses. "Well, I'm Morgan Sperry, and I'm the director of this movie. The board has been searching for an actress to play the role of Astrid Ellison, the main female character, and nobody has fit what we have been looking for, until now. You are exactly what I want, and you're going to be playing Astrid. You don't even have to audition. Congratulations!"
Ally looks like she's about to faint. "I know who she is, sir. I've read the books. And, I wasn't here to audition. My friend and I," she gestures at me, "are here to be extras. We signed up a month ago at Bookfest. I don't even have an agent!"
He frowns. "Well, then, we'll just have to get you one. I've been looking for a good Astrid for six months. Can't let this opportunity slip by. C'mon, let's get you to the offices and get everything worked out. We will start shooting in two weeks."
~~~~~~
It's been a month since then. Ally's parents had agreed to her professionally acting, if she kept her grades up. The filming has been going really well, and everybody on set always compliments her on how she's a natural. She has an agent now, and after this project she is already booked to be a guest star on a new tv show. I'm genuinely happy for her, but there's a big downside.
I can feel us drifting apart. She was pulled out of school because of her crazy schedule, and now she's being homeschooled. The last time I saw her was two weeks ago, and I used to see her every day. We met at a Starbucks for lunch, but I could feel the ever widening gap between us. She's an up-and-coming Hollywood star, and I'm a twice-orphaned rebellious girl from Florida. It honestly hurts, losing your best friend to the sparkly world of fame and fortune. She's changing, too, and becoming a little bolder, ruder, and haughtier. Her average brand wardrobe has morphed into designer, and she's dressing stylishly now, but she never used to care about that.
School is pretty different without her, but now I'm known as "Allison Belmont's best friend." (Allison Belmont is her stage name.) Two people have already asked me if I can get them her autograph.
I'm going to the movie set tomorrow to say bye to her because the California filming portion is over and everybody is packing up and traveling to Texas for part two.
I'm trying to be happy for her, because this is something she's always wanted. But all I feel is bitterness. I used to miss her, but she's changing, and now I don't know what's worse: the fact that we're drifting apart or that I feel like she is way too far gone for things to ever be the same.************
I was worried that i wouldnt be able to update bc my dad took my phone away on sunday but i got it back so yay!! vote and comment plz
