Keeping a Secret
After our ICT class, it's now time for recess and I'm the first one to come here among my friends on the cafeteria.
“Good morning, Ate Sarah! I'll buy 2 pieces of hotdog and egg sandwich, 1 pack of macarons, fries and iced tea,” I said.
“Good morning, Shiela! I'll just bring it to your table, okay?”
“Okay, Ate Sarah. I'll wait for it,”
Before my friends came, I'm already eating my foods. They are totally delicious.
“Good morning, guys! I've been waiting for y'all but while I'm waiting, I decided to eat first. What took you so long?” I asked them.
“Sorry, Shie. The School Paper Editor-in-chief told told me to talk to our journalism professor for some matters and it almost lasted for 10 minutes,” Aela said.
“Yup, I'm with Aela and I also helped her about some things. I'm really sorry, Ela,” Adrien said.
“It's okay, guys. Don't worry. By the way, where's Ayesha? Aren't you with her?”
“No, Ela. She isn't with us,”
“Then, where is she?”
“All I know is that her parents took her a while ago and I've heard that Ayesha has to be confined to the hospital, Shie,”
“Wait, what?!”
“I've also heard that she has been suffering to a serious illness since last 2 months and when time passes by, her condition worsens, Shie,”
“But why? Why didn't she tell us about it? Why did she have to keep it from us, Aela?”
“I don't know, Shie. I really don't know,”
“Ela, calm down. Maybe she's just worried what we'll react and what we'll do that's why she decided to hide it to us. Try to understand her,”
“Maybe you're right, Rien. She's just concerned to us,”
“I already talked to her parents, Shie. And they allowed us to go see her tomorrow and on our free times,”
“That's good, Aela. I badly want to see her and to check if she's alright,”
“Don't worry, Ela. We all know that Ayesha is a fighter, right? She'll be able to fight for her life. Nothing bad will happen to her,”
“Adrien's right, Shie. She's brave. She can surpass that. She won't leave us alone,” I just nodded to them.
“Thanks, guys. Let's just go visit her tomorrow. Text me whenever you're ready, okay?” they both nodded.
The conversation ended up with so many suggestions, surprises and plans for Ayesha. How I wish those will be finished in time. I hope that out friend will never give up on her life.
“Good morning, class!” Ma'am Grace said.
“Good morning, Ma'am!”
“You all know that this is your religion class and I hope all of you learn and cooperate with me,” Ma'am Grace said.
“Yes, Ma'am. We won't fail you,” I answered her.
After an hour, our last subject ended well too.
“Class dismissed. See you on our next meeting,” Ma'am Grace said.
“Yes, Ma'am. Thank you,” she smiled to all of us here.
After class, I texted Aela and Rien to see me first before going home.
“Hey, Shie! Why do you called us here?” Aela asked.
“Why, Ela? Do you have something to tell us?” Adrien asked as well.
“Yes, guys. I have something to tell the both of you, but can you please keep it to yourselves?” I said.
“We promise you that, Shie,”
“No problem, Ela,”
“Okay, good. I know you won't believe me but a man called on my phone yesterday afternoon and he said that he's my Daddy and he has some evidence too,”
“But how would that happen, Shie? Is that even possible?” Aela asked.
“I don't even know, Aela. But when he told me that, I immediately felt an urge to just trust him and listen while he'll explain everything to me,”
“Oh, okay. I can't even do anything about that matter,”
“But, why are you telling this to us? Are you going to meet him?” Adrien asked.
“Yes, you're right, Rien. I'll go to his restaurant just as he said to me. I'll go there tomorrow by 10 am and he'll be waiting for me there also,”
“So, he has his own business? I mean his own resto?”
“Yes, Aela. He has his own,”
“What if something happens to you there, Ela? How can we help you?”
“That's one of the reasons why I wanted to let you guys know about this thing because I might be alive or not when I come back here,”
“I'll just text you both, Rien. I'll be in his resto called The Avila's Restaurant and you can actually go there if there would be an emergency, okay?” I added.
“Okay, Ela. Take care for tomorrow, huh?”
“Yes, I will, Rien. Don't worry about me now. Thank you,”
“It's now time to go home guys. My driver's waiting for me outside. Just don't forget to update us tomorrow, Shie, okay?”
“Okay, Aela,”
“Who's going to fetch you, Ela?”
“Tita Alexa's already outside too, Rien. You know and you still remember her, right?”
“Oh, yes Ela. That's great! She's your godmother,”
“Yes, she is. Let's go now, guys. They're all waiting for us. Let's not waste our time,” they nodded.
When we've gotten home, I went straight to my room because I was so tired and exhausted. I also have to freshen up a bit.
On call
“Guys, can I ask you a favor?” I asked them on the phone call.“Sure, no problem, Ela,”
“Same here,”
“Please don't tell anyone about what I've told you a while ago, especially Mom and Tita Alexa. Can you promise me that?”
“I won't tell anyone, Ela. I promise,”
“Me too. I'm good at keeping secrets, y'know,”
“Sigh! Thanks, guys. I really appreciate it,”
“Anything for you, Ela,”
“No problem, Shie. Always remember that you can trust us, okay?”
“I will keep that in mind and I won't forget that, Aela,”
“I'll hang up now, Shie. Mom is calling me,”
“Me too, Ela. Dad wants me to help him downstairs,”
“Okay, guys. Good bye and good night,”
