SHIELA'S POV
A Student's School Life

English is our first subject every Monday and is headed by our class adviser, Mrs. Deborah Lacsam. I belong to Grade 10-A.

Yesterday, our lesson is about different kinds of speech in English, Biology in Science and Philippine History in AP.

It's already 7:00 in the morning and I'm now here in the Academy. I am always the first one to come here because I don't want to be late, never. Hay!

I am now on the canteen and I immediately went to the front line to buy foods, siguro ay dala na rin ng gutom kaya nagmadali na naman ako.

“Good morning, Shiela! What do you want for breakfast?”

I'd like to have 5 pieces of pancakes with strawberry syrup and apple cider and also, my milk din po.”

“As usual, ayan pa rin ang madalas mong binibili dito. Noted, Shiela! It's 50 pesos only.

“Okay, here you go,” I gave her my money and smiled at her.

It took more than a minute before I finally got my breakfast. Sobrang gutom na talaga ako, grabe!

“Here's your breakfast, Shiela.

“Thank you po, Ate Sarah!”

A couple of minutes passed, I'm now full and done eating one of my favorite breakfast here in the Academy.

I immediately went to our classroom after eating and washing my hands. Half an hour passed, our Math professor finally came and we eventually greeted him.

Good morning, Sir Philip! We cheerfully greeted him in chorus.

Good morning too, Section A! Please take your seats now.” So today, I only have 30 minutes to discuss to you our lesson. I hope you will cooperate with me.

No problem, Sir! You can trust us,” I answered as the class president.

Math class has already ended for about 30 minutes instead of 1 hour because they've had an urgent meeting and he has to present there. The good thing is, despite of the lack of time, we still learned and listened to every details of our lesson for today.

It's time for our recess now. I immediately went to the cafeteria and decided to wait for my friends there.

“I missed you all so much! At least, you guys are here now.”

“We missed you too! I was just busy on our school paper. Alam mo namang part ako ng journalism team, ‘diba?” Ayesha said.

“I missed you too! I got so busy na rin kasi sa research namin. Sorry, Shie!” Aela said. Hay nako! Isa pa to!

“I miss you more, Ela! I'm really sorry we weren't able to come and eat together yesterday.

I heaved a deep sigh. I'm lucky that I have friends like them especially the only boy with us, Rien.

“Ano ba kayo? Stop saying sorry, okay? I know we are all busy, that's why we're not always together, but, that's alright. All of us has to think about our studies first. Don't worry. Hay! Ang gaan at ang saya talaga nilang kasama.

“Guys, ililibre ko na kayo. What do you want?”

Seriously, Aela?”

Is that true, Aela? It's very uncommon of you.

Pagbigyan nyo na ako, please” she pouted and looked at us, natawa na lang tuloy kami.

O sige! Thanks!”

“Copy that, Shie! How about you, Ayesha? Adrien?”

Aela, mine is just classic pizza and mango shake,” Ayesha answered.

“I prepare to eat the same thing just like Ela,” Adrien (Rien) said.

Okay! Hintayin nyo na lang ako dito. I'll just go to the counter,” we all just nodded at her.

Few minutes had passed, Aela came back together with our foods. We immediately ate all of them out of hunger.

He's also caring and a gentleman especially to me because I was once bullied and abused by some people before, and he's the only one that I have back then that's always there to protect me up until now. That is the reason why Mom really love him. He's like a second father and a brother figure to me that I never once had.

But unfortunately, she had a miscarriage that immediately led to the death of my supposed to be brother. I was hurt because I was hoping to have a brother too, but I know God actually has a reason why it has to happen.

Maybe, just maybe, in another life, I'll have my own brother too. My own REAL brother. But still, I appreciate Adrien so much and I treasure him a lot too, just like how he surely treasures me in his life and that's what I'll always be thankful for.
