"All set. She is going to love this, for sure." Jisoo reassured me for God knows how many times already. I was nervous. Like over the top nervous.

"What if she doesn't like this? What if she-"

"Hey, calm down. I mean, come on, who wouldn't love this? This is the ultimate gift you could give her."

I start fidgeting and I start biting my nails. I reqlly can't calm myself.

"She has basically everything and I don't know if she is going to-"

Jisoo unnie holds my hands probably to stop me from fidgeting and continue biting my nails. Then, again give me a reassuring smile.

"She will going to love it, okay? Trust me and trust yourself."

"Ok. I'll try." I said with a sigh.

The grand celebration of Lisa's birthday party a.k.a Masquerade Ball (this year's theme) will be held at one of the famous five star hotels their family owns, the majestic Pranpriya Hotel located in Sta. Monica, California.

My phone buzzes again so I answered it in a huff without looking at the caller.

"Unnie, stop-"

"Jennie! Where the hell are you?!"

I pull the phone away from my ear because I feel like my eardrum is about to crack with how loud Lisa shout in the other line.

"Hey, you gorgeous woman. Happy birthday." I nervously greeted her.

"Don't you dare happy birthday me! Where the hell are you? My party is about to start and you're my partner, so tell me, WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!?" She repeats again.

"Uhmmm... Listen, Lili. I'm really sorry. I'm still in the hospital right now. I'll be late but I'll come for sure. I'll just be a little late. I'm really sorry. I need to attend an emergency surgery." I explain softly then silence envelopes us. She didn't answer, I'm pretty sure she hates me right now.

"Lili? Are you still there? I'm really sor-"

"I can't believe you're breaking your promise to me right now. Right now, Jennie, of all these times, you choose my fucking birthday."

"Lili, I didn't mean this to happened. I just can't leave the hospital right now because they need me and-"

"It's okay. I understand." I heard her breathe deeply. She sound so disappointed.

"I will come as soon as I can, even if it's late. I promise."

"Don't make promises anymore that you can't keep." She said softly before hanging up.

I lean back against the wall feeling guilty that I made her sad at her special day. Now, what?

"Jennie, are you ready?" Jisoo asks on the other side of the door.

"I am." I said, opening the door.

"Wow! You are so... Bewitching."

Jisoo's eyes widen and her lips stayed open as soon as she saw me.

I am wearing a teal dress with a sweetheart bodice with bronze trim and dark teal, maroon and purple rosemaling on the skirt and bodice, black long-sleeved turtleneck blouse with red and teal crystal-shaped prints on and a gold tiara.
