JENNIE's POV

"Where is she? Where is Lisa?!" I ask in no one in particular as soon as I entered the Emergency Room of the hospital. Everyone seems busy and I doubt if they heard me.

My heart is thumping wildly inside my chest ever since Jisoo unnie called me earlier. I was running like a mad woman at the parking lot because all I want to see her. I need to see Lisa.

I walk towards the nurse's station and bump my fist on the table there. "WHERE IS LALISA MANOBAN?!!" I said in a loud voice, huffing.

The nurse there look shock, I figured she was one of the newly hired because I still don't know her name.

"L-Lalisa Ma... M-Manoban?" she asked me in return, she really look scared.

"Dr. Kim."

I turn around to see the owner of the voice. His name is Dr. Jeon Jung-kook, one of my colleagues.

I blink furiously.

"Where is Lisa?"

His eyes were serious and he looks dreadful.

"Ms. Manoban is inside OR 3 right now. She was-"

I didn't let him finished. I run towards the surgery wing fast enough that I didn't even care if I bump into someone.

Oh God, Lisa.., please be alright. I can't lose you. Please be okay!

I prayed so hard as I run towards Operating Room number 3. My tears were threatening to spill but I controlled them. I can't lose my shit now. I have to see her!

When I reached the surgery wing of the hospital, I saw Jisoo unnie sitting outside the corridor. She stands up as soon as she sees me. Her eyes were all puffy, obviously from so much crying.

"WHAT HAPPENED?" I demanded.

"I'm so sorry, Jennie... This was all my fault..." she said, looking like crap. Her clothes were full of blood; Lisa's blood.

I grab the neckline of her shirt.

"WHAT DID YOU DO?!" I said, gritting my teeth without giving her a chance to explain first. My eyes filled with fury.

"WHAT DID YOU FUCKING DO, UNNIE?!"

She didn't answer. She was sobbing uncontrollably.

I figured that she was not in her current state of mind to answer me so I unclench my fist on the collar of her shirt.

"Tell me everything later!" I warn her then I hurried towards the door of the operating room.

Protocol be damned! I need to see Lisa.

Breathing raggedly, I open the door of the OR.

And it's too late to realize that I wish I never did.

FEW HOURS AGO

My eyes drifted towards the beautiful scenery around me. I decided to let my mind and heart rest for a while as I admire the calm beach of Malibu here in California. It was my day-off and usually I spent it with Lisa. Except today.

Lisa...

I exhale a deep breath as I tried to forget everything that happened between the past weeks between us. But who am I kidding? I couldn't.

I can't believe I'm back into square one. I can't believe I fall for another best friend. I thought I was wiser, I thought I could control my heart when it comes to love. But I failed, again. And now, I'm suffering another heartache that I don't know if I could handle it.
