The pair of them sat side by side, legs dangling off the cliff whilst their eyes remained on the cotton candy clouds above them. Dream aimlessly began picking blades of grass out of the ground beside him, rubbing it between his fingers and watching closely as the wind carried it far away. Little to no words had been exchanged between the two, not that the silence was an uncomfortable one - more or less a calm one, just the two drowning under neath the warm radiation of sunlight. That didn't mean Y/N was any less cautious, though. She knew what he was capable of and she wasn't willing to test her luck just yet. She didn't always have the best case of it when it came to him. After what felt like hours of pure silence (when in reality it was minutes at most) Y/N finally opened her mouth to speak once again.

"Sooo... what? You're stalking me now?" She comments, tilting her head so the side of cheek was pushed against her shoulder. He rolled his eyes, scoffing what sounded to be something of a dry laugh before tilting his head back up to the baby blue above.

"Not.. entirely. I wasn't intentionally trying to follow you to start with, if that's what you're asking." He responded, plucking out yet another handful of grass from the ground. She wasn't... completely sure on why he was doing that, but she figured it must have been something of a nervous habit. But why should he have any reason to be nervous. Right?

"Yeah, sure..." she muttered, smiling to herself as she shifted to move a knee up from off the ledge and plant it so she could rest her forearm against it. Dream finally turned his head to look at her after hearing the false sense of belief in her tone, his mask staring blankly at her.

"I'm not kidding - I was already heading to this spot, actually," he patted the spot beside him as a gesture, "when I passed by you and Technoblade along the trail, the pair of you making your way to what looked to be a secret hideout with a secret rebellion, correct?" He asked her, his mask reading her closely for a response.

Although she hardly made a reaction to his statement, he was still able to determine the correct answer purely from her minimal body language, like the way she straightened up her relaxed posture, and how the crease between her brows deepened ever so slightly once the words left his mouth. Then again, he was pretty used to getting a reaction from her from time to time, so it wasn't exactly difficult for him to learn her reactions from the smallest things.

"Mm, figured.. though if I'm being honest, I don't really care too much where you're hiding out. Like I said before, I want to offer my allegiance." He comments, shrugging his shoulders carelessly, before tilting his head towards the ground where he was thoughtlessly picking at grass. Y/N's gaze remained forward as she thought about his words in her mind, her eyes flickering down to the bottom of the cliff below them.

Of course, her thoughts were still pretty set in stone in terms of her opinion of his side of the deal, though of course she didn't completely agree with what he'd be getting in return. 'Chaos'. The worst part was not knowing what he was implying by it; what he was yet reveal from his sleeve. There always was - there was no doubt he was planning something now, too. She just needed to figure out what.

Her fingers began to trace the handle of the axe beside her thigh absentmindedly. The more she thought about his intentions, the more cautious she got. Especially with what happened the last time they saw each other last year. She still technically owed him her side of their past deal. For all she know he could just swoop in and take her captive once again right here, right now.

Her hand now found itself clutching tightly on the grip of the axe.

No.

Her grip quickly loosened, leaving the axe to lay in its previous position. She blinked a couple times, snapping out of whatever moment that was. That was... strange. She hadn't even realised her hand had reached her weapon and yet she was just about to lift it and put it against his neck for literally no reason. Well... not 'no' reason, technically.
