If you're seeing this as a new update/chapter in your notifs or updates, then I hate to disappoint because it's just a reupload since the original decided to delete itself for whatever reason. Thankfully, I managed to restore it, thank god, so the issue has been solved. Sorry for getting anyone's hopes up! ily/p the next chapter (39) should be up pretty soon though! Keep an eye out!

"So... run it by me again."

Y/N sighed, shaking her head dismissively at her current company's lack of awareness to her situation, despite her explaining it already in quite full detail.

It had been... roughly a week or two, she guessed, since she first earned her position in Manburg and gained Schlatt's compliance. She had to admit - she was still mildly surprised that her plan had gone somewhat smoothly, despite the couple rough edges. And no further suspicion had seemed to be have been raised, too, by neither Schlatt or the other cabinet members. Thank fuck for that.

It wasn't all that bad, anyway - all she really needed to do was follow what orders Schlatt gave her (though there were admittedly many) and stay in line, which surprisingly wasn't all that hard to do. The only thing she could really say she could 'complain' about was how little time she had free to visit her friends back in Pogtopia. Sure, Tubbo managed to snag a couple longer hours or days with the guys but that was mostly because his orders were often set to find them anyway. Hers were more or less just keeping citizens in check and making sure no trouble would be stirring within the nation. She shouldn't complain too much, though - she was the one who agreed to be a guard in the first place.

Currently, she was using one of her free days of the week to spend it back at her current base. Well, she was going to until a certain green-hooded blonde distracted her from doing otherwise. Instead she ended up resting on the same cliffside the pair had talked on previously, with her feet hooked beneath her and her palms pressed into the grass behind her. She didn't mind too much anyway - there was a couple things she had planned to discuss with the guy after her interaction with his sister.

She tilted her head to stare at his smooth, freckled face (or more accurately, the bone-like material who's eyes burned into her own that concealed his smooth, freckled face) and tightened her lips into a straight line.

"I'm hiding undercover as a guard in Manburg so I can gather information from Schlatt and the main office and pass it onto Pogtopia to plan for the revolution. And, so I'm able to protect Tubbo." She explained as briefly as she could, purposefully missing out a couple details due to not trusting him completely. Don't get her wrong, she felt sympathy for the guy (though she wasn't sure if she'd ever admit it outloud) and she was beginning to trust him more and more by the day - but that didn't mean she couldn't be wary of certain decisions.

The blonde hummed in understanding, head pushed against his shoulder before moving his sight to the ground beneath them.

"And how's that going for you?" He asked further, mashing his hand into the green blades of grass and just laying it there. She ticked her head to the sky in thought, conjuring the best response to that question. If she were honest, she felt pretty uncertain on the whole ideal.

"It... isn't great, but it could probably be worse. Could be working as a servant instead - what a nightmare that would be.." she mused, shaking her head and chuckling slightly, soon joined by her companion's deep laughter. Their conversation soon died down to a peaceful silence, both practically melting under the sunlight that shone over them on their cliffside. The more her mind pondered on the weather and setting, the more the reoccurring question stung in her head, until eventually she couldn't help her curiosity win her over.

"What's your obsession with this view, anyway? You can hardly look away from it." She spoke up again, scooting forward slightly so her legs dangled off. He hummed a quiet response, pushing his tongue to the side of his cheek before finding the answer he was searching for.
