tw: this chapter will contain a bit of descriptive violence, so just a little warning for people who are uncomfortable with that sort of thing :)

Everyone had gathered just outside of Tommy's embassy, all in their separate groups as they discussed their opinions on the whole ordeal. The whole of L'manburg were placed at the doors of the base, sitting on either the chests scattered around the room or the floor. Y/N had her back rested against the frame of the entrance to the building whilst she rested on the floor, her face looking down to the ground as she held a wet rag to her cheek. Fundy had offered her it on their way here when he noticed the small gash on her cheek and she couldn't be anymore grateful for it. The cut had started to grow sticky and bothersome.

Tubbo was sat on one of the chests just beside her, his fingers tapping anxiously against the surface of it as he awaited for what was going to happen. The arrow from his shoulder had been removed, but the wound hadn't been fully patched, meaning he had to apply pressure to it, at least until they arrived home again. She could tell he was probably dreading this the most out of everyone here. His best friend's life was on the line. Fundy had his back against the other side of the doorframe, his eyes looking out to where Wilbur paced around anxiously just outside where they waited. One his legs were propped up against the wall and the other was used to balance his weight.

Everyone was there - everyone except Tommy.

Just before they arrived here, he had made it very clear that he wanted to be alone for a few moments whilst he thinks things through, stress very clear and evident on his features. He had disappeared off around the path, explaining that he'll come back in a few minutes and that he just needed a walk. Although Wilbur was hesitant to letting him go, he did nevertheless. This was a huge thing he had gotten himself into, so he'd need all the time he could get to do what he must.

Over on the other side of the wooden path, were Dream and his friends, all seeming a lot more relaxed and confident than L'manburg were. They seemed to be cracking small jokes, and making funny remarks which often led out to one of them bursting out laughing.

Dream, however, seemed to be a lot more quiet than the rest. Sure, he still wore that shit-eating grin like it was permanently stuck to his face, but he seemed a lot more focused on other matters than the others, including L'manburg. He was twisting the bow around in his grip, flipping it over occasionally and watching as it danced between his fingers, looking strangely intrigued by it. In reality, his mind was elsewhere, thinking about the benefits of winning this fight, and what he'd do when he did win. Not only would he stop them from having their 'precious independence' - but Y/N would proceed to remain on his side. Of course, she still had punishments for what she had done since she still hadn't received them, but he was yet to figure out what they were.

He watched the girl sitting down on the far side of the pathway with curious eyes, noticing how she tapped her foot anxiously against the floor. She kept sending quick glances to her leader, and then to the area Tommy had disappeared off to. Anybody could tell from just a first glance that she was nervous. He had allowed her to spend her remaining time before the battle with her friends, mostly because she had practically pleaded for it and though it may not seem like it, he was human. Her H/C locks were messy and slightly disoriented due to her running her hand through it out of stress and she hardly ever seemed to blink, her brows deep and furrowed. He wish that look wouldn't be a common occurrence. Something he wish he could put and end to, despite being the one who caused it. Although he only saw it a few times, he liked the way her eyes squinted slightly when she smirked, or the way her eyebrows rose when she was going to let out a cocky remark.
