Everything went south as soon as the sheet was thrown over Y/N's head. L'manburg had drawn out their swords and other weapons whilst she was being carried away by Dream himself, yelling out muffled sounds and protests. Soon enough she was out of their sight. Out of L'manburg... Instinctively, the rest of dream's friends also unsheathed their weapons, prepared for any kind of stunt thrown at them.
"You're making a mistake, Wilbur" Eret called out, eyebrows furrowing. "Tell them to back down". Wilbur stared hard at his former friend, and then to his current friends who stood by his side, whose gazes were angered and cautious, ready for whatever call their leader made. He gripped tightly onto his sword, pointing it towards Eret threateningly. If they were willing to fight for Y/N's freedom no matter what's at stake, then so was he.
"The only mistake I've ever made was trusting you, Eret. I don't plan on repeating it by trusting your judgement" He glared at the boy harshly, earning a few shocked glances from everyone surrounding them.
"Oooh, yeah! Eat shit!" Tommy added, laughing wildly with his sword waving out towards the traitor. Eret said nothing - he only glared in return.
"If that's how you want it to be," George shrugged his shoulders carelessly, loading the bow held in-front of him. With alarmingly quick movement, he raised the bow and released the string, sending the arrow towards the group and burying it into Wilbur's shield.
That's when all hell broke loose. The groups charged at one another, shields colliding and weapons being swung left and right, up and down. Fundy and Tubbo found themselves clashing swords with Sapnap, who stood his ground and blocked their attacks swiftly and effortlessly. Wilbur fought George, shooting an occasional arrow at him whilst swinging his own sword to meet his opponents'. Whilst everyone was fighting, Eret and Tommy stood merely metres apart, staring each other down angrily. Tommy had his axe held tightly by his side whilst his shield stood protectively in front of him, ready to block any blow. Eret had his bow raised, pointing directly at Tommy, fingers prepared to release the string as soon as he made an approach to attack.
"You have a lot of nerve, showing your face around here" Tommy spat, flipping his axe slightly in his hand to get a stronger grip on it. He still couldn't quite grasp the fact that Eret had betrayed them, after being a team for so long. He even thought they were friends.. Was he really just faking it the whole time?
"It doesn't have to be like this, y'know" he replied slowly, bow still trained on him "if you just surrender, nobody will be hurt. Including Y/N". He noticed Tommy's brows furrow at the mention of Y/N and his grip grow even tighter on his axe, turning his knuckles white.
"It's too late for that, you know it is... We've come too far to let go of everything we've worked for - everything you've worked for" he shook his head, a small smile showing on his face. "I mean, look around, Eret! Look at how things have changed" he explained waving his sword around to their surroundings. Eret's eyes trailed around, taking in the tall walls and land that he once fought for. It really had grown in the past few months it had been here. He found himself lowering his bow ever so slightly. "You really expect us to give that up?" His eyes then averted to what was happening around them - two nations fighting. He watched as swords clashed against eachother and the sparks flying from the impact. His eyebrows furrowed, remembering why he was here.
"For your own sake, I hope you do" he averted his glowing eyes to Tommy again, who stared back with a look of despair. He let out a small sigh. He really didn't want to fight Eret, despite all he had done. He still took part in fighting for their freedom. But L'manburg comes first. He charged forward, raising his axe in the air.
Eret released the arrow, which landed in the centre of his opponent's shield, before bringing out his own sword. Moving swiftly, he raised his sword to block the strike Tommy brought down onto him. The metal collided together furiously, sending Eret back slightly from the recoil. Hastily stepping back to regain his balance, he raised his sword in front of him and gripped onto it tightly. Tommy took large quick steps, swinging his axe around to barely graze Eret's arm. He winced from the sting, but kept his posture firm and sturdy. Whilst he was now vulnerable, he took the chance to swing his sword at Tommy cutting his leg with the tip of the blade.
