a/n: right now HERE is your new chapter, srry for the confusion hehe
After the whole argument went down, Wilbur had refused to speak again. Y/N had no idea if it was because of what she said or because he felt guilty for saying what he did to Tommy, but he just remained... silent. Strangely silent. As though he wasn't really there. Nevertheless, they found their way through the dark tunnels of the caves until they eventually came across a staircase and a dim light source, signifying they had arrived. Even Y/N had to admit, the tunnel earned it's name of a 'shortcut' - they arrived here in no time...
Wilbur lowered the torch upon the sight, pushing it into one of the many damp walls that surrounding them, dulling the once settled flame with a hiss immediately until it was merely a chalky black stick of wood that sat within his palm. He dropped it, a quiet clattering sound following shortly after. With a tired sigh, Y/N turned towards the male beside her with a troubled stare. Of course, there were plenty of things she had left unsaid, due to not wanting to spark any more conflict within the man - but that didn't halt her thoughts entirely. So, she cleared her throat.
"Right... Tommy said to take the route behind the podium because it's the quickest, but I don't think it's the safest. Schlatt hangs around in the White House and the podium the most, so I suggest if you want to get to the LMFAO building discreetly, you need to go around and towards the docks. I'll explain the rest to you once we arrive." She spoke out-loud her plan, nervously glancing up the staircase and ladder before turning back to Wilbur. He nodded slowly, still seeming out of it despite his gesture of approval. She had to admit, being in charge felt kinda good for a change, considering how it was always him who took the leader roll, even when they were little.
After receiving his nod, she reciprocated with one of her own and turned around to face the ladder standing afar from her. She led the two of them over to the structure, climbing it and making sure the male followed shortly behind her. Her hands hooked themselves around a heavy metal handle, twisting it with a quiet creak in order to unlock the hatch above. They were immediately met by a flush of water, the cold wash sending them into a brief state of panic. Thankfully it was short-lived, as they broke through the water's surface and darted their heads around for any sign of danger.
Outside was a familiar lake, surrounded by a slight overgrowth in plants and vegetation, the scenery making it look like the area was abandoned. It was easily recognised as the lake from when L'manburg was first formed, the familiar pear-shape of the bank being the first giveaway. Sat not too far away from the pond was no other than then good, old hot-dog van, though it was more of a... ruined, decaying dirt van, now. Wilbur's eyes immediately lightened at the sight. Oh right... Y/N had almost forgot this was his first time sneaking into Manburg since his banishment. No wonder he had been so silent...
Once she lifted herself out from the lake, checking that the coast was clear once again whilst doing so, she dropped an arm out below her and offered it for Wilbur to take. He took it instinctively, letting her help before immediately finding himself ushered behind the cover of his trusty old van. A prized artefact of this nation.
After they tucked themselves into hiding, Y/N quickly hooked her head around to look at the podium not too far away, her eyes locking upon the stage instantly and scanning it. By the looks of things, they were still waiting on other citizens to show up, including herself, funnily enough. Quackity was doing his best in the meantime to keep the audience entertained, cracking a few odd jokes into the microphone that stood before him with a crooked grin on his face. The crowd didn't seem too amused... At least he was trying, she figured.
Schlatt stood backstage, she noticed, alongside Tubbo who looked just as awkward as ever. She also noticed how he still had her trident in hand, holding it as it were some sort of staff in front of him - like she did. He clearly was trying to copy her movements of when she's on patrol, where she'd hold the shaft just the same, stance and all. Her lips tugged slightly upwards at that, before immediately tugging down once her eyes landed back on Schlatt, again. A thick cigar was placed between his teeth, a trail of smoke emitting from it in swerved, pretty patterns whilst he glanced down at what seemed to be a coin sat on his knuckle. She'd picked up that it was a habit he had for whenever he seemed bored or tired, or most likely in this situation, impatient.
