IM BACK BITCHESSSSS! So, this is about 3 years after the last chapter, I know giant time skip. But I wanted Clyde and Arabelle to be able to walk, talk, and express emotions. ALSO, I CHANGED MY MIND, CLYDE IS SICK BUT HES NOT GONNA DIE. >:) I've got something verrrry special planned for y'all. Neheheheh.
Goldie watched as Arabelle put together a puzzle with 4 big, blocky pieces that looked like farm animals. Goldie had Clyde sitting on her lap and he was playing with some of her hair.
"All done!" Arabelle said picking up the puzzle and showing it to Goldie.
"Very good Arabelle!" Goldie said rubbing the side of her face. Arabelle smiled greatly.
"I'm gonna show papa." She said walking over to the staircase. She looked up at the big, scary staircase. The big scary staircase was actually a normal-sized staircase with the lights off at the top, but she was so little it seemed big and scary. But she was the daughter of Scrooge McDuck and Goldie O'gilt, she wasn't gonna stop at any obstacles. She began slowly climbing up the stairs.
"Please be careful Arabelle!" Goldie said. Of course, she trusted Arabelle but she was also a mother and didn't want her to fall or get hurt.
"Do you need help?" Clyde asked sheepishly watching as his older sister climbed the stairs with no fear.
"Nope! Nothing can stop Arabelle McDuck!" Arabelle said determinedly and continued climbing. Clyde wished he had the confidence she had, but he was aware there was danger around every corner and he didn't want to risk getting hurt. He watched in amazement as his older sister made it to the very top stair. But she made a mistake, she looked down the giant staircase she had just climbed. Clyde noticed the worry in her eye as her smile slowly faded into a worried look.
"Uh... Mama? I'm really high up!" She said scaredly.
"I know honey! But you're almost there, just one more step and you can go to daddy's office!" Goldie yelled. Of course, she didn't want Arabelle to be scared, but she also wanted her to be able to handle tricky situations like this one. Arabelle smiled again and looked at the last stair. She set her puzzle on top of it and climbed up it. She got to the top and smiled greatly. She picked up her puzzle and trotted down the hallway. Goldie set Clyde down onto the floor.
"I'm gonna go help Beakley with lunch. You stay here pipsqueak." She said and kissed the top of his head she walked into the kitchen and began cutting some vegetables.
"I wanna be cool... Just like sissy." He said and looked at the stairs. He saw how proud Goldie was of Arabelle when she climbed all the way up, and he wanted Goldie to be proud of him just like that. So, he walked over to the stairs and tried his very hardest to climb up them.
"Papa!" Arabelle said knocking on Scrooge's office door.
"Yes, Arabelle darlin'?" Scrooge said and opened the door. She lifted her puzzle proudly.
"Look!" She beamed.
"Great job!" He smiled and kissed the top of her head. She giggled and he handed the puzzle back to her. He was about to say something when they heard thudding then Clyde started crying loudly. Scrooge picked Arabelle up and ran over to the staircase where he heard the thudding. He said Goldie run over to the bottom end where Clyde was laying.
"Clyde sweetie! What happened?!" Goldie said scooping him up in her arms. Scrooge walked down the stairs to join Goldie and Clyde at the bottom.
"I w-was trying to g-go up t-there like s-s-sissy. I wanted y-you to be p-proud of me too." He said and cried some more. This made Goldie's heart sink. She was proud of him! In Clyde's eyes, she loved Arabelle more because she was stronger, adventurous, smart, and brave. And Clyde was weak, scared, weak, and didn't like adventures.
"I am proud of you!" Goldie said and wiped tears away from his eyes. Scrooge gently set Arabelle down on the stair next to him. Clyde sniffled a bit.
"Are you hurt?" Scrooge said gently taking Clyde from Goldie and scanning his body. He had some bruises but nothing too severe since he only made it up 5 stairs. Arabelle ran off in the direction of the bathroom but quickly came back with a box of something.
"Here!" She said tugging on Scrooge's sleeves indicating that she wanted Scrooge to put Clyde down. Scrooge gently set Clyde down next to her. She put a bandaid on one of his bruises.
"Bandaids make boo-boos all better!" She said and smiled at Clyde. Clyde looked down at his arms and faked a smile. Of course, she was doing something that their parents would be proud of. She just loved all the attention. She ran off cheerily and Clyde walked away angrily instead of sadly.
2 years later.
Arabelle had learned the piano just like Scrooge. But Clyde hadn't learned any instruments he watched as the entire house, including himself, stood and watched as she played the piano amazingly. She played so freely, each note flowing, practically as if they were connected. When she finished her own original song, the entire family began clapping, but not Clyde. He just stared angrily and gritted his teeth. Everybody was so proud of her and not him.
Time skip, Clyde and Arabelle are now around 13. Don't y'all love time skips?
Clyde always felt underappreciated by his own family, his own blood. Arabelle made life seem so easy, so free. But she was wrong. It's not some happy miracle. She's just lucky. He had enough, he was going to talk to Arabelle.
"Arabelle." Clyde said knocking on her bedroom door. Arabelle walked over and opened the door.
"Hey, Lil bro!" She said happily and let him into her room.
"Why, why do you make life seem so happy?" He growled, immediately cutting to the chase.
"What?" She questioned. She didn't understand why out of the blue he decided to talk about this.
"You make it seem so amazing, it's just you. It's only you. You probably think the world is some miracle, but you're wrong." He said. When he said 'wrong' it made Arabelle worry, he seemed so... villainous. Why was he acting this way?!
"W-What? We have an amazing life!" She chuckled in disbelief that her brother was saying these things.
"No, YOU have an amazing life. What do you think it's like living in somebody's shadow! That's all I am. Your shadow, everybody pays attention to the person, but never the shadow." He growled getting more aggressive.
"Clyde you're scaring me..." She said as Clyde backed her into a corner.
"That's the point." He said as a smile spread across his face. He reached into his pocket and grabbed out a towel that had some sort of liquid on it.
"MOM DAD!" Arabelle screamed before Clyde could push the towel onto her beak. He had to act quickly if he wanted to get her knocked out before they entered the room. He pressed the towel against her beak hardly and lifted her off the ground with one of his hands, suffocating her. She squirmed and kicked until finally, she lost consciousness. He grabbed onto her and broke the window. He heard footprints getting closer to the door and he heard the door open.
"Arabelle?!" Scrooge yelled and threw the door open. All Goldie and Scrooge saw was Clyde smile and hop out the window with Arabelle's lifeless body. Scrooge ran over to the window and looked out of it to see where Clyde was taking her. Nothing. Nothing and nobody.
I was very excited to finally feel comfortable with writing again! I hope y'all enjoy this bitter-sweet chapter.
