the 2nd night of the masquerade finally came to an end. Everyone seemed a bit more tired than usual. In other words the atmosphere was a bit heavy in the air. The scene from earlier clearly didn't help lightening it, for the outcome the maids didn't waste time and hurried on the scene to clean the leftovers of the mess made by the prince and the citizen. the queen was yet to spoke on the accusations the nobles made about her. it wasn't like she had to address them since it was just plain stupid. they were basically saying "the Queen should've never allowed such thing inside her castle, like what if that man was an assassin?" clearly everyone could've been someone ordered to kill her.

the two friends of the poor man did try their best to defend him but of course no one was paying attention to them. just because they weren't royalty either.
since they weren't that confortable anymore staying, while knowing that their buddy left they also decided to end their night at that point.

the guards were presently guiding the people to their room once again. there was a bit more people than the night before , which was a bit weird but no one really lingered on it.

As for the queen, the latter was getting her makeup removed and dressed properly for the night. she had not seen her son yet since the small incident of the evening and she found it rather strange. cause why did he just disappear like that ?

"can't believe this man. i organized a whole event for him but he had to disappear ! really? tell me amber, am i doing something wrong?" she asked desperately while getting some hairpins out of the way.
amber was her personal maid that was assigned to her to help her go to bed basically.

"no your majesty. i believe... everything you do is correct and fine."
the queen quickly noticed the hesitation in her maid voice and tried to catch her gaze in the mirror but she was just avoiding it.

"why am i asking you. of course you would say yes , you're biased. enough , you can go back to your quarters."  yoon-ah sighed and pointed the door. amber politely saluted her and left the room without any arguments to defend herself.

plus it wasn't like the queen lied. it was pretty evident that the girl  was biased and was too scared to share her real thoughts.

"if only you were still alive..." her fingers slowly brushed against a picture that was sitting on a corner of the desk. a man could be seen , smiling on the picture.

PRINCE POV

for the prince he was currently sitting on top of his bed with two sheets of papers in front of him. he didn't really know which piece he should read first  cause the dates were actually missing. a frustration groan escaped his pale lips and he let himself fall back on the soft surface.

he already made several attempts to find his way but he wasn't the most intelligent so sorting the sheets was a quite difficult task. plus he didn't want to spoil it right away. it seemed to be something quite interesting and would be such a waste to just read through it.
