wooyoung's body was battered and bruised, exhaustion seeping into his bones as the adrenaline slowly faded away. pain pulsed through his thigh, a reminder of the battle that had just taken place. despite the discomfort, he was relieved to see that the bleeding had stopped. he didn't want to bleed out right now and just die like that.
looking around the throne room, it was a scene of chaos, with the bodies of the king's guards strewn about. they weren't all dead, thanks to wooyoung's strategic use of poison, but they were certainly out of commission for a while. with a smile, he reached out a hand to help the prince to his feet.
he had done it. he had avenged his parents and brought an end to the reign of terror. the promise that the prince had made to him, to uncover the truth about his parents' murder, had been kept. and he finally could grieve the right way about their death. the illusion and hope that one day he could see them again, finally disappeared. it was time he came to conclusion with it. it was better this way anyway, he couldn't just wish his parents reappeared like that out of nowhere. it was something inevitable.
now he'd have to tell yunho and yeosang, but together like they just did, they could get through anything.
as wooyoung looked at the prince, he felt an overwhelming sense of love. it was a feeling that he couldn't pinpoint exactly when it had begun, but it felt right. the bal incident now seemed like a distant memory. it was as if a lifetime had passed since then. they both matured a lot in this amount of time and then together just... was right.
wooyoung knew that he needed to rest. he was on the brink of collapsing due to exhaustion, and his body was screaming for rest. just as he was about to succumb to the darkness, he felt someone's strong arms wrap around him and the prince.
"we'll take you somewhere to rest. don't worry, we will take care of the cleanup," the guard named felix said with a reassuring smile. and just now, he noticed the freckles spread across his face and it just made wooyoung happy? his eyelids grew heavy as he felt himself drifting off, the last thing he saw was the kind face of felix.

"wake up wooyoung" a deep voice called out to wooyoung, jolting him awake from his peaceful slumber. as his eyes adjusted to the light, he found himself face to face with a well-rested mingi, whose arms were adorned with an unusual plaster. the warrior waved at him with a smile, and wooyoung couldn't help but feel grateful that everyone was safe.
god he wouldn't have known how to act if any of them got hurt.
"thank you for giving me whatever this was back then," mingi said. "i'm pretty sure you saved my ass."
woo dismissed the gratitude, feeling a sense of relief that the worst was over. he knew that they would all have to face the aftermath of the traumatic event, but for now, they were safe. plus a little trauma never killed somebody— just added a little spice to their personalities.
