WOOYOUNG POVthe weather was very cloudy and the wind was quite ominous. everything was so gloomy and gray for some reason , in other words the weather did not give some good vibes.
"hmmm that's weird... "let go wooyoung who took one last look at the castle, which almost seemed like it was burning, but after all, it was probably the fog and nothing else.
a few minutes later he finally arrived at the village. weirdly even the villagers didn't seem to be in a great mood today... at the same time its not like we could blame them i mean the weather is enough to makes everyone grumpy.
the merchants stood behind their booths sighing heavily, probably cause they didn't have much customers today. there were barely any people outside so that pretty much explained it.
wooyoung stopped in front of the small fruit and vegetable booth and greeted the man behind it kindly."hello Mr. Yoon! how are you today?" wooyoung asked gently as he took a closer look at the merchandise.
- hello wooyoung, if i'm being honest it could be a lot better. the sales these days are not so good ... and the weather is not helping any of us at this moment."the young man nodded his head to offer some moral support to the shopkeeper and took out some gold coins from his pocket. he was not going to steal from someone who had just told him that sales were hard because if he did what kind of person would he be ? exactly! stealing is pretth bad in the first place but sometimes some people don't deserve our money.
"I'll take three apples and three sweet potatoes please."
the merchant's face lit up suddenly and a smile quickly formed on his face. wooyoung had probably just made his day, which made him happy too. the man took one of his best bags and quickly packed the small order made by wooyoung."I hope you like the fruit! it was freshly picked not long ago. so it'll be 6 gold coins please."
wooyoung took a quick look at his coins and swallowed hard, he had 6 coins right on top... it was a bit too late to back out so he gave them to the merchant and left with his bag, thanking him of course.
"hopefully the other booths won't be too expensive."
thd gold coins were not easy for wooyoung to accumulate while the bronze and silver ones you could find them almost everywhere. the more deeper the young man went in the city the heavier the weather became, all the people seemed drained of their energies and they were all walking like zombies in the street.
usually the city is a place full of life with music and dances in every corner but today for some reason it was the opposite of the usual routine. maybe something had happened that wooyoung didn't know about since it always took some time before the news reached their little house out of the city.
"young man! young man!" wooyoung continued on his way as if nothing had happened, avoiding the calls, unaware that they were for him actually.
PRINCE POV
"he's waking up, I think." said an unfamiliar voice that didn't seem to be far away from the prince.
san opened his eyes slowly, feeling an excruciating pain in his head. He bit his lips as hard as he could to focus on his surroundings. his vision had not yet fully adjusted but all he could see was fog and a gray floor that he seemed to be lying on.
the prince tried to use his hands to rub his eyes but quickly noticed that they were chained together. why would anyone do that to the literal prince ??
"should we put him back to sleep...?" another voice came over the horizon, again unknown to the prince.
"no. We must wait for orders from [...] before we act."
san was so confused about how he got into this situation , what went wrong ? his morning was supposed to be like every other boring ones. maybe it was life punishing him for his actions , who knows ? but at the same time wouldn't that be a little to cruel to be the universe ?
"it's so satisfying seeing him this way." a laugh echoed into the room making the prince shivers a bit.
after a few minutes of almost incomprehensible chatter, the footsteps moved away, leaving San in his misery alone. silence had now filled the room and the darkness was the same as before. there was a tiny window , which could led up a small amount of light into the room.
how could the prince get out of this mess now? those hands chained to the floor were certainly not going to be much help, there was no way he was just going to stand there and do nothing. plus he absolutely needed to get his hands out of that if he wanted to even have a slight chance of escaping this place.
but at the moment what San was most worried about was whether his mother was safe or not, he couldn't afford to lose her too. one parent was enough he needed her. even if he seemed to be a dick to her , deeply he loved her.
San slowly calmed his breathing and glanced down at his cuffs. he did know a way to get out of them, but it was almost impossible to do it without pain. he had to try it.
he took a deep breath and ground his teeth hard into his lips as he started to move his wrists a bit to get a good angle and slammed them as hard as he could into the ground, breaking them both at the same time. an unbearable pain made him muffled a scream and caused his lips to bleed quite a lot. he had bitten very hard into them which had split them open.
he took several breaths to keep from passing out and managed to slip his hands out of the cuffs, as they had become very malleable. the pain was simply out of this word , several amount of sweat was dripping down onto the floor.
with his teeth he tore off a piece of his sweatshirt and tied one of his wrists, then pulled the tissue over his neck for support. One of his wrists was still slightly usable, which was why he hadn't tied it as well. he got up slowly from the floor and approached the bars he was locked behind.
he needed a key, it was almost impossible to get out of there without one. he was screwed, how could he escape now?
"calm down san... first just think about all those movies you've watched with the guys. i'm sure you can figure something out." he then scanned the small cell where he was being held and noticed a white sink , beside a little bed. where in the hell was he ??
he approached the sink and kicked it hard enough to break a part of it, which made a shattering sound that echoed throughout the room.
"Did you hear that?" said one of the voices from earlier.
"Oh yes, I heard it... Are you going to see or... do i need to go?
- Go ahead, I'll keep watch here."footsteps were then heard immediately, the voice was coming down some stairs.
a small smile formed on san's lips then he took one of the broken glass pieces behind him, waiting for the arrival of the famous person. he cannot missed this chance or else it would become even harder to escape , so san you need to get out of there.
he had put himself back in his place so that he would not look too suspicious, giving the impression that he was still chained to the ground. but little did they know, that despite his injuries he was certainly not going to let himself die this way. thanks to his self-defense courses and hongjoong actions movies.
