Chapter Two

When we got out of the car my mom waved to us and drove off. As I started walking into the school there was this group of girls in a circle. Then realization hit me. One name, that drives me insane. Natalie Wolf. That girl hates me. We’ve been enemies since preschool, when she liked girly stuff and I was a tomboy. Since then she’s always been out to get me. Anyway possible she will try to fuck up my life. Oh Kat actually looks decent today? Let’s make fun of her outfit and tell everyone about it. Not to mention she has the most douchest boyfriend, Brock Myers. Even though high school just started for us they dated last year and kinda go on and off. Not to mention they have sex a lot, and when they aren’t dating they have sex with other people. All the guys on the baseball team are douche bags, even though I really want to play it’s gonna be hard with these jerks. As we were walking past the circle of girls, it was like slow motion like in a movie. Everything slowed down, she gave me a smirk and I grinned back and rolled my eyes continueing to walk towards the school.

I got my class schedule and headed towards my locker. I unloaded my backpack and started putting my stuff inside the locker. Suddenly the locker beside me opened I looked up to see if I knew who my new locker neighbor is. It was none other than the school’s baseball star, Bradley Smith. Who is also another enemy of mine. It started back in the 6th grade when I beat his baseball team in Nationals. He also enjoys saying inappropriate stuff at me. I quickly put all my stuff in my locker and slammed my locker.

“Kat Love?” I heard my name from behind me. I knew the voice.

“What?” I said with a lot of attitude I must add.

“Woah, chill I just wanted to say hi.” Bradley said smirking.

“Sorry. Just you and me, not really friends.” I said using my hands as gestures.

“Well, I want to change that. Maybe more than friends?” He said taking a step towards me and getting a little too close for comfort.

“Um, I don’t think so.” I said pushing as hard as I could on his chest. Here’s the thing, Bradley’s 6’4” and I’m 5’2” so he has a bit of an advantage.

“You’ll come around, they always do.” He said walking away. I rolled my eyes and stuck my tongue out behind his back. “I saw that!” he said turning around. I grabbed my book bag and ran down to homeroom.

“Kat Love! Don’t run away from me!” I heard him yell. Thank God, we don’t have the same homeroom.

Throughout the morning I only had English with Chloe. Although, I had 3 classes with Natalie, scariest looks I have ever witnessed. Finally, lunch came. I went to my locker and grabbed my lunch, luckily Bradley wasn’t around. I met up with Brady and we walked into the cafeteria. I found Chloe and Blake sitting at a table, eating lunch.

“What sandwich do you have?” Blake asked me holding up his sandwich.

“Peanut butter and jelly, what did you get?”

“Peanut butter and Nutella”

“Switch” we said at the same time.

“You too are creepy sometimes with her twin telepathically.” Chloe said eating her bagel sandwich.

“I don’t know, Chloe, I think it’s pretty cool.” Brady said “Can you guys read your thoughts too?”

“Brady, you’ve asked me this since we were little, no!” I said throwing my bread crusts at him. I hate the crust, on anything it’s gross. Brady took my crusts and started eating it; he on the other hand, loves it.

“Hey, look who it is.” Chloe said putting down her sandwich.

“Oh My God! Chloe!!” Natalie screamed jogging towards our table. Oh look, suddenly I’m not hungry anymore, thanks Natalie.

“Oh hey, Natalie.” She said looking up at her.

“Are you going to try out for the volleyball team this year?” Natalie said twirling her hair “We really need a setter and from what I remember you’re the best around”

“Um, I’m not sure. I mean with gymnastics and cheerleading I’m not sure if I have the time-“ Chloe began

“Please?!” Natalie said jumping up and down. If I could catch her and use my plastic knife and grab her neck…

“I’ll think about it and get back to you, ok?” Chloe said showing her cheerleader fake smile.

“Ok thanks! Hey Kat.” She said turning towards me.

“Natalie.”

“Are you trying out for the baseball team this year?”

“I was thinking about it. Why?”

“Well, its just Brock is trying out and I didn’t want him to see something as ugly as you…”

“Say that one more time, bitch” I said standing up and clenching my fists. “I dare you”

“I’m not scared of your tough girl act, Kat” she said putting her hands on her hips.

“Oh, yeah?” I said coming around the table and got into her face. “Well you should be”

“Psh, whatever” she said stepping away and walking back to her own table.

“Go die, bitch!” I yelled behind her back. She turned around and gave me the middle finger. Cute.

“Woah kitty, put away your claws.” Bradley said pretending his hands were claws. Great, now he’s here.

“What do you want, Bradley?” I said putting my hands on my hips.

“I just wanted to say that your tough girl act, is super sexy.” Bradley whispered in my ear and wrapped an arm around my waist.

“Really?” I said, stepping on his foot as hard as I could. He whimpered and let go of my waist holding his foot and hopping on his non-injured foot. “You may want to rethink that” I said winking. I walked back to my seat at the table and continued eating my sandwich. After lunch I went to the rest of my classes. I texted my mom telling her that we were going to walk to McDonalds after school. That’s when a poster caught my eye.

“Baseball Tryouts today after school 3-5 at the field”

I dropped my bookbag and quickly called my mom.

“Mom! They are having baseball tryouts after school today!” I said smiling

“Oh, yeah I remember Mr. Vold told us that they’re having them at the beginning of the year so the team can train till the season starts.”

“Mom, can I go?”

“Of course! Just tell Blake that your not going to McDonalds. I’ll bring your baseball stuff down to the field. I’ll pick you up at 5”

“Thanks mommy!!” I said and hung up; I texted Blake, Brady, and Chloe

Me: Not going to Mickey D’s

Chloe is amazinggg: But whyyyy?

Me: Baseball tryouts are today!!

Blake is the best brother eva: Do you want anything from Mickey D’s?

Brady is extremely sexay: Wait for it…

Me: A big mac J

I put my IPhone in my backpack and started walking towards the field, smiling.

Author’s Note: Woahhhh Kat and Natalie are not that good of friends. A little flirting between Bradley and Kat them classic Chloe and Brady. Next Chapter will be about the tryouts. Thanks for reading ;)
