When Brock's brother came to pick me and Brock up it was so awkward you could almost feel it. First of all, his name is Zach; Second of all, he asked if Brock and I was a couple, Third of all, he called me hot. This is how it went down. We got into the car and he was listening to hard core rap.
"Hey Broc-, WELL HELLO THERE, BEAUTIFUL." He said to as soon as we got into the car.
"Um, dude, this is Kat she plays baseball with me and I thought maybe she could come over. Remembered when I went over her house when I was little?" Brock tried to save me.
"I think I saw you at school today, you're a freshman, right?"
"Um, yeah?" I said feeling so awkward.
"Oh yeah! You're the hot freshman with an attitude!" he said winking at me. Brock and Zach talked in the car until we got there; when we got to his house I got my equipment and got out of the car. I followed Brock into his house and everything felt so familiar, the smell and everything. I smiled a little to myself and Brock noticed and he smiled back.
"Look familiar?" he said taking my equipment and setting it down in the hallway.
"Defiantly, it hasn't changed at all."
"Lets go downstairs where my video games are, have you seen your brother play Black Ops II?" he said walking away.
"Watched? Dude, I play Black Ops almost every day" I said, "So much better than the first one."
"Where have you been the last few years of my life?"
"Down the street from you." I said going down the street. We played Black Ops II for almost 4 hours. His mom brought us cookies and coke while Zach continued to hit on me. Around 7:15 I checked my phone and saw my mom's about to go on her night shift at the hospital. My mom works at the hospital as a nurse, everyone's favorite nurse I might add. I knew I had to get home because Blake shouldn't be left alone at our house. "Hey Brock, I got to get home, my moms about to go to work and I have to do my homework."
"Aw ok, do you need a ride?" he asked probably feeling bad.
"Nope, I can walk it's just down the street. Thanks for inviting me over by the way!" I said following him up the stairs.
"No problem. I'll see you tomorrow at school."
"Alright bye Brock, bye Zach!" I yelled.
"Goodnight sexy!" Zach said running to the door "I'll see your sexy ass at school tomorrow." He said wiggling his eyebrows.
"You're so nasty." And with that I left the Myer house. I walked down the street with my baseball equipment, which was getting really heavy, with my house insight. I was getting a little hungry since all I ate at Brock's house was cookies, so I made a note to myself to order pizza when I got home. I headed up the driveway and took my key out of my equipment bag and opened the door to my house and saw Blake and Brady playing with Styrofoam swords. As soon as I opened the door they stopped mid war and looked up at me.
"Kat!" Blake yelled.
"Blake!" I yelled back.
"So what did you do at Brock's house?" Brady asked dropping his sword.
"Played Black Ops and- well that's pretty much it, what about you guys? Is Chloe home?" I said when I dropped my bag by the door.
"Naw, she has work today remember?"
"Oh my God! I have work today!" I sprinted downstairs to the basement and threw off my sweaty clothes and threw on my sweatpants and my Forever Alive t-shirt. I ran to my bike and rode down to 96.9 radio station where I worked.
"Hey Carter!" I yelled when I walked into the booth. "I know I'm late, but I had try outs and it was-"
"Come on, Kat, I can't take your excuses all the time! What if I was sick and you needed to take over?" Carter said turning around in his swivel chair. Carter is also my friend. He's a Junior at my school and very popular, he works at the radio station and pretty much owns it according to his daddy. He has long blonde hair and blue eyes. He's really nice, even though I'm usually late or not at work, he still signs my paychecks. He would never let me on the actual station, even though he said he would.
"Really? You would let me go on? Yeah right, Carter." I said rolling my eyes and starting to get the papers ready for todays schedule. All new pop songs. "Here you go, Carter. Can you guess what's number one?" I said with a smile. He hates the band.
"Bruno Mars?"
"You wish."
"Taylor Swift?"
"She will never marry you, and no." He has an obsession with Taylor Swift, and not because of her music.
"Mac Miller?"
"Nope!"
"Is it..." he said grinning.
"ONE DIRECTION" I said then started jumping and singing "What Makes You Beautiful".
"No! Stop! Your ratchet boy band is killing my ears!" he said picking me up by the waist.
"Carter put me down!" I started kicking him. No help, this boy has an eight pack and is extremely ripped.
"Stop singing your horrible music then we'll see."
"Fine." Carter set me down and smiled rubbing his eight pack.
"You actually have a nice voice when you're not screaming." Carter said sitting back in his swivel chair about to go on air.
"Not really. But thanks anyway." I said starting to stack the records according to alphabet and smiling to myself. I guess I do have a nice voice but baseball players can't double as singers, it just doesn't work that way.
"Alright, Kat. I'm going on air, so shush your pretty little mouth. By the way, I'm leaving early today so you can leave around nine or so." I looked up at the clock, 7:30. Only an hour and a half to go until I can get my pizza. I stepped out of the booth and continued stacks cds. I began humming to myself, One Direction ironically.
I won't let these little things slip out of my mouth
But if I do it's you
Oh it's you
They add up too
I'm in love with you,
And all these little things
That song always touches me, even to the point where I cried, and I usually never cry over a song. I've never had a crush, much less a boyfriend. Of course, I've dreamed of that perfect guy, and the perfect date and what not but never found it. Before I knew it was already nine. I grabbed my bookbag and walked to my bike. Carter offered me a ride home but I denied it, I'd rather ride my bike. Along the way home, I actually felt a bit sad because I never felt love or a boy liking me like other girls. I guess Prince Charming is stuck in a tree, or something.
Author's Note: Here it is! Kind of sad at the end but nothing to heavy. Sorry for the long wait but I've been busy. Tomorrow's my birthday :D Rainbow goldfish crackers and Ice Age fruit snacks are the bombbb. Chapter 5 soon! Thank you sooo much for reading! -Liv
