***(Hey guys, I finished the last chapter, so make sure you go read the rest of it before reading this :) and the media picture I found online and thought of this scene so there ya go lol***

Emma's little foot stepped delicately onto the iced over pond. "Em!" I called over to her nervously. She turned her head to look at me. She had only taken one step, but I was nervous. "Just remember to stay calm! And-and just be REALLY careful. If it starts to break, try to to make a force field under yourself and you won't fall!" Drago gave me a look that clearly meant to stop talking to her, so I did.

Oh! Emma's never made a force field on purpose! I thought. 'I love you!' I mouthed to her. Emma took another step forward. The ice was mostly clear and I could tell that where she was standing was already three feet deep--or for Emma, over the top of her head. She took another cautious step and I heard a quiet crkkkk sound below her foot. Acting surprisingly quickly, Emma sidestepped the spot. She took another step--now 4-5 ft. deep under her. The now thinner ice made tiny crackling sounds under her every step. My heart pounded, and I had trouble breathing in the cold, crisp air.

Em took another step and then everything went wrong.

The ice around her started splintering  in jagged zigzaggs. The ice beneath her started to break through! She screamed and whimpered as she thrust her hands below her in downward motion. A purple transluscent forcefield flickered in and out of existence. She continued to whimper and her hands shook from the pressure of holding up the forcefield, which flickered more quickly. If her foot touched the ice again, it would without a doubt break through. Drago looked up at the sky, black clouds forming from Emma's stress.

"Emma, focus! You can do it!" I yelled to her. I turned to Drago, "If she dies, I swear I'll--"

"--You'll what?" Drago took an intimidating step towards me. He towered over me.

        "I'll--I'll... I don't know," I looked at the ground.

"Exactly. You can not just demand something of me, Blaze." I was shocked into silence just from hearing my name. No one has said my name for years except myself. Emma can't even say my name. "You have no leverage on me, but I have much on you." He stated coldly.

Then, Emma's forcefield disappeared. Her feet landed back on the ice, which immideately collapsed under her wait. With a shriek, she dissappeared into the icy water. The ice that had crack floated back in place like a puzzel, trapping Emma from any chance of getting air.

"Emma!" I yelled, sprinting towards the lake before Drago could stop me. I Ran across the ice as lightly as I could, but almost every step broke through, but since I was running, I didn't fall through all the way. Once I reached the place where my sister had fallen in, I banged my heel against the ice. I gave way and I dove in after her.

I plunged into the water, the cold stunning me. I had never felt anything so cold in my life. I had a sudden pulsing headache and was dizzy. Which way was up? Where was Emma? I opened my eyes which stung in the icy water as I caught a glimpse of her about ten feet away. I was running out of air quickly, but I forced myself to power over to her. She was near the bottom and was obviously blacking out. I wrapped my arm around her and struggled to pull the weight of the both of us up. I was desperate for air and the cold was unbearable. Just touching it was extremely painful.

I struggled to power to the surface, but the ice had filled in the spot again! I pounded at it and managed to push it out of the way. My hand broke the surface and scrabbled for the edge. I was slippery and I couldn't get up: especially since I was holding Emma in one arm. I gasped for air and kept trying to pull myself up. Finally I did and dragged Emma up too. The ice would break again any second. I forced myself to stand up, even though my legs were numb and in extreme pain. I made myself pick Emma up with my tired arms and bolted across the lake.

I finally reached the shore and flopped onto the ground, coughing and sputtering as I sucked in freezing air that burned my dry throat. Emma was next to me, barely, if at all, conscious.

"Emma! Em!" I wrapped my arms around her body and hugged her to me to try and warm her. Drago strode over to us like nothing had happened.

"Don't bother, Boy. She failed and is of no use to me."

"Yah? Well, she's of use to me!" I screamed at him. "You are not killing my three-year-old sister! Don't touch her! Leave us alone!"

Drago kicked me off of her and brought a sword to her throat. I had to make a choice or my sister would die. As quickly as I could, I made a fire ball in my hand to demonstrate. The flames were red tipped with black at the top. Drago froze, the sword at my barely conscious sister's throat.

"Take me instead and let her go! I can't do what Emma can, but I have fire powers. I'll do what you want and I won't argue or complain, just let her go, let me warm her up enough for her to survive, and then I'll go with you." I promised desperately. "Please!" I was very greatful that Drago didn't know that if he did kill Emma, her powers would go into him. That information kept my sister alive. Maybe... Drago stared at me, obviously unsure if I was worth anything.

"Please, Emma is only three! I want her to grow up and have a future! I don't want her to die because I couldn't save her. And that's not fair, because I tried! I promised her that I wouldn't let anyone hurt her! I'm supposed to protect her! I can save her if you just let her live! I'm powerful too and I can control my powers. Just take me instead of her life! Please!" I was now just screaming at him. I took a deep breath. "You said that you had a child. I know you loved them, because you helped Emma up. You forgot for a moment that she wasn't yours. Emma is just a kid--and frankly, so am I. But I'm her big brother and her only family. Even if you do make this deal, she is losing her only family. That's hard enough without me losing mine."

Drago thought for amoment, but finally agreed to let her go in exchange for me to basically be his slave. I don't regret my descision and I would make it again a thousand times.

Emma means more to me than anything.

Before Emma left, I will never forget what she said, "Bwaze, I wuv you!" her 'L' was slurred, but I didn't care. That was the first and probably last time I would hear her say my name.

                                                              * * *

Emma:

That was the day my whole world changed. My fear of water was born. To me, I had lost my brother. I wasn't allowed to see him there, and even if I was, Blaze would never've let me because of Drago.

But that was sixteen years ago. My powers are stronger than you could ever imagine. I can use them on demand now, but can't always conrol it when I'm not trying to use them. The legends of me have spread, and the fear of my name is great. But it's not my name. To everyone, I am just the Darkstalker. I am 'Emma' to no one. I am alone in this world.

I am a shaddow in the night, a flicker in the fire. I can never be seen.

        They call me a monster.

        And they're right.

***That was REALLY long! lol Sup guys! So I hope you enjoyed that! So far, the book has basically been a prequal, but from now on, it's not.
