"Dang." Karr gawked, "Why are the walls so high?"
Hong shrugged, "They've been up for thousands of years to keep all enemies away. Though it didn't work when the Fire Nation attacked and took over when Avatar Aang was a kid. I guess they don't learn. Instead, the walls grew higher." He then turned to Karr, "Have you not been here before?"
Karr put his hands in his hips and leaned to once said, a look that said 'really' painted across his features, "I've lived underground underneath the water tribes. I haven't really gone out anywhere."
Hong gave a smug smile and back hugged the older, "Well I guess if we have time, I'll take you around. Consider it a date."
Karr smiled and laid his back on the younger, "I'd like that."
Soon, the two entered the gates into the legendary city Ba Sing Se and roamed the streets.
"One of a kind! Find your signature style spoken from your soul!" Some merchant yell, "Free Moonstone with every purchase!" Others bargain.
The bustling streets of this large city left the couple baffled. "Well, it's already crowded, even in the morning." Karr said, "What do we do?"
Hong looked at the younger, "I will give you the best date ever, all the while we are building a rebellion." And just then they heard yelling, a full crowd yelling at the top of their lungs, "Fight! Fight! Fight!" repeatedly.
As the two walked closer to the raging crowd, they could see a figure standing on top of a podium, mic to his mouth and fist in the air. "We can not sit by and watch our world be destroyed, many lives have been lost and no one knows." The figure preached, "Friends and families have disappeared, never to be seen again. We cannot just sit by and do nothing! Who is with me?!"
The large crowd erupted in cheers, startling the couple, Hong sighed, "I guess someone is already doing the work for us. Well, that makes thing's easier." Karr laughed and went through the bustling crowd to talk to the raised figure. From where they were, the two could not see who the person was rather is this person truly on their side.
After the speech, the crowd erupted in cheers and went their separate ways, ready to take action. As the crowd dwindled, Karr and Hong made their way closer to the stage to speak with the one on the podium.
"Excuse me? What is thi-" Before Hong could finish, he was engulfed in a hug from the person on the podium, who jumped down and almost made him fall. Karr clearly did not look amused seeing his boyfriend with a random stranger.
"Hong! You're back." The figure lifted their hood, revealing a small and young girl, probably around the age of 16. Her dark eyes glazed with incoming tears, "When I didn't hear from you, I thought that you were gone like mama and papa. I-"
"Wait... Hera? What are you doing here, what is going on." He held the young girl in his arm, further angering the older male.
"Who is she?" Karr question with his hands in his hips and his weight shifted to one leg.
Hong chuckled, "She's my little sister, Hera. But what are you doing here? You usually hat crowds, why are you gathering one?"
Hera looked at her older brother with determined eyes. "Our family was killed." Tears brimmed her eyes, "They forced them out of the house a few days after you left." She grabbed on to Hong's shirt, "They came back in coffins, and I thought you were gone too."
She sniffed trying to hold back her tears, "It was almost a year, I was all alone, then I heard they were coming...." She looked to the floor and sobbed.
Hong began to rub circles along her back. Karr came towards the two and began to comfort the girl, also.
She sniffed back her last tears and wiped the rest away, "Never mind. You're back and you're alive. That's all I need." She smiled with teary eyes and Hong smiled back.
"You're right." Hong started before Karr lightly coughed, getting the two attention. Hong nodded, knowing what Karr intended.
And so, the three took to the streets raising awareness and building a great following. A great accomplishment without getting the law involved.
Posters were hung and shouts could be heard as the people of the Earth Kingdom spread the word of the underground doom.
"Ahhh..." Karr sighed as he plopped down in the boys' shared bed. "Who knew this could be so hard." He rolled over onto his back and sat up straight to look at Hong, who was almost done dressing into his pajamas. "And you never told me you had a sister!"
Hong slightly chuckled at the older, "Well, we never brought up that subject." He then laid down beside the other and took the young man into his arms. "I'm just glad that you came with me."
Karr smiled and leaned in close to give the younger a quick kiss, "I'm glad too. It was also the perfect chance to get away from Weng!"
The two shared a quick laugh that ultimately died down into a soft sleep, both resting their heads on one another, gentle and pure. as if nothing could ever hurt them. Their thoughts become hazy as they drifted into pure bliss, wondering and hoping that everyone else will be safe and succesful.
—— At the Northern Water Tribe——
"Whoa ohohoho!" Lucas gazed at the gigantic palace before him, "It's ice! All ice!" He ran up and down the steps, slid across the ground and down the sides, almost slipping everytime. "I'ts a winter wonderland!" He exclaimed while spinning, eventually falling onto his but.
Weng sighed and tried to hide her face away from judging gazes with her hands, facing away from Lucas. "Stop it," She whispered, " You're embarrassing me."
Lucas looked up to her and chuckled, "Heh sorry."
