The city lights glistened in the night sky, making Karr feel at ease, "Isn't it beautiful?" He heard Hong ask. Karr turned back to the other male and stared into his eyes, "Y-yeah, it is."
Hong smiled, but Appa had an idea up his sleeves.
Appa has been flying nonstop, listening to all these lovebirds: Fen, Weng, Karr, and even Hong.
He had enough. So, he tilted a bit as he began to descend to the city below.
The tilt caused Karr to fall on top of Hong, with their noses brushing against each other. The two could hear their heartbeats quickening and growing louder. Thankfully it was dark, so the two couldn't see each other's flustered faces.
"I-i'm sorry..." Karr began, He tried to get off, but Hong wrapped an arm around his waist and held him tighter, keeping Karr from moving.
"Sorry for what?" Hong said, a small smirk appearing on his lips, the lips that Karr couldn't keep his eyes off of.
"I'm sorry for falling on top of you, and almost kissing you. You probably wouldn't have like that." Karr responded, ending it with a nervous chuckle. He tried to get out Hong's embrace, but he wouldn't let him.
"Why would you be sorry?" Hong further questioned. Karr was about to speak before he realized the situation they are in: He was on top of another guy, on the verge of kissing him, literally millimeters away from contact.
Hong shouldn't like this, neither should Karr. Hong always admired Hana, even though he denies it, and Karr has always been with Weng.
But this situation they were in was confusing their emotions and their thinking.
They contemplated if they should move a bit closer or not.
After a few moments, the two males gave in, and Appa let out a small noise as if he was saying 'finally.'
~In Republic City~
As morning came, the group opened their eyes to a small park somewhere in the city. Appa was already fully clothed in his human form, sound asleep. Hana looked at the sleeping boy and decided that he needs his rest. After all, he did fly all night.
Hana then turned to the group and began to speak, "Okay, now that we are here, we need to get straight to work." The rest of the gang nodded, she continued, "From what um...... the avatar has told us. We need to look for information about the disappearance of Prince Zulee, and the legend that does with it. I'll stay with Appa since he needs his sleep."
The rest of the group nodded and headed off.
As they came close to one of the shopping plazas, Fen turned to the rest of the group.
"If we want to cover more ground, we will have to split up." He looked at the other three waiting for their responses. When he didn't clearly find one, he continued, "Maybe we can go in pairs? One team takes the north side while the other takes the south."
Now, Fen got a reaction. Especially from Hong and Karr.
This was their chance to spend time together, without anyone or anything getting in their way.
Karr smiled a bit as he felt Hong grab his hand, without anyone noticing, squeeze it, and put it in his pocket.
"I'll go with Karr to the Southside. I heard some discussions of the Prince's Legend being the talk of that area." Weng said as she pulled on Karr's arm, dragging him away from Hong.
"B-but." Karr began to protest, but Hong shut him up with just a smile. This assured Karr that everything will be fine and that they will have their privacy some other time.
Soon, Karr and Weng were but a blur in the distance, leaving Fen and Hong to wander about the North.
"I guess that it's just you and me," Fen stated, making his way over to where Hong was standing. "The two lovebirds flew out of their nest."
Hong chuckled a bit. Lovebirds? Karr and Weng? Quite the opposite. In fact, Karr was with someone else. However, he wasn't ready to make it public just yet.
"What is it?" Fen asked. Hong sighed, "Oh, nothing. Let's go before it gets too dark."
So, the two pairs were out and about. They searched for clues as to how, why, and where did Zulee disappear.
Back at the park, Appa finally opened his eyes.
"Where am I?" He croaked, slowly opening his eyes. Hana looked down at the younger, "You're in a park in Republic City. Remember?"
Appa sat up, "Oh, yea. I remember. I guess I was just tired of listening to Kong and their lovey-doveyness."
"Kong? What's a Kong?"
"Karr and Hong. Geez, those two were so gross. I thought I was going to throw up." Appa made a gagging sound and acted as if he really was as he recalled last night's events. "I don't want to go through that ever again."
Hana looked at Appa, questioning if he was serious or not. He gave a look back as if he was saying: 'do I look like I would make this up?'
"Are you sure that it was Hong and Karr? I thought they just met."
"Oh, I'm sure. I know. The voices and their giggles, and the- eww! It's so cringey to even think about it." He gives a gesture of trying to shake the feeling off, but Hana just laughed.
" I think it's cute, those two being together at a time like this. It's adorable."
She smiled to herself, "Kong. I like it." She then turned back to look at Appa. "We have to go now. We need a place to stay. I am not sleeping here again. Someone tried to put me in the garbage bin."
The two laughed and began to search for a place to stay, a place to plan for their next step.
