It was dark, dim, the only light in the room was from the scorching fire beneath her. The flames tickling the soles of her blistered, chained feet.
Hana hung her head low. It was hopeless, there was no way out of here. Well, not without help. She prayed that her friends will find her before someone else finds them.
Her desperate prayers were drowned by the screams and clashing of swords echoing through the underground caverns.
She jolted a bit from these sounds, hoping that it wouldn't be her next.
She doesn't exactly know why she's here, but whatever it is she wants out. Her anxiousness burned her skin like the fire that is slowly engulfing her bruised, battered, hanging body.
She had to get out, she had to-
"Well, hello officer Hana." A very familiar voice called from the entrance of this torturous chamber.
Hana didn't raise her head to see the man who came in, nor did she want to. She hated this cruel male for all that he has done.
He had lied, cheated, killed to get where he is today. Though he says he's only following in the legendary lost Prince Zulee's footsteps.
Well, Hana could care less. He is still a conceited, manipulative jerk, and his handsome face couldn't help his huge ego shrink.
"Won't you say hi back?" The man questioned, "Wow, you won't even look at me. Do you hate me that much?"
"What do you want, Tae," Hana spat. She saw the feet, but didn't dare to look at the face who owned it.
"Awww, I'm glad you asked." Tae's voice giving fake amusement, but soon reached low depths, "I came to ask you a question."
"I won't answer it." Hana retorted.
"Oh, but I think you would. It's a matter of life and death." Tae said as he trapped Hana's chin between his forefinger and thumb, forcing her to face him. "Your life, that is."
Hana rolled her eyes, " As if I would answer anything for you."
Tae's grip on Hana's chin tightened forcefully. "Well, if you don't, right after I leave this room the flame that is barely touching your feet will reach the top of your head in a matter of seconds. Do you want that?"
Hana's eyes searched Tae's to see any sights of bluffing or anything else. But to her dismay, he was telling the truth.
"Fine," Hana reluctantly answered, "What's the question?"
Tae smirked, "Glad you asked. I was wondering through the halls when I heard some rumors." His hand slowly crawled it's way to Hana's cheek, "They talked about Avatar Korra being a fake, and the real one is hidden among us. An officer of our troop to be exact." He then slowly caressed Hana's cheek with his thumb, "I was thinking you may know who he or she is?"
Hana looked Tae straight in the eye, "I have know idea who it is." She said with no emotion.
Tae, however, showed rage, "Oh I think you know who it is." He slid his hand to the back of Hana's head, grabbing a fistful of her hair and yanking it back, causing Hana to suddenly face up exposing her neck.
She winced as she felt a cold metal press against the side of her neck.
Tae leaned close to whisper in her ear, "You either tell me, or I kill you."
Hana spoke with clenched teeth, "I'd rather die."
Tae let out a soft chuckle, "Well I can't kill you now if you want to die. I guess I'll just leave you to the flames."
He moved back, letting his hands fall to his sides and the into his pocket.
"Have nice night, officer, for this may be your last."
Tae walked towards the door, but uttered a few words without turning around, "Unless, you confess." He said as he stepped out into the caverns beyond.
The doors slammed shut, and Hana let out a breath that she didn't know she was holding.
She was almost caught, and she can't let that happen again.
Hana lowered her head once again, closed her eyes, and mapped out an exit route.
She was ready to escape. Now all she needed was-
"Hana? Are you in here?"
-them.
