"Ok, through this tunnel, we'll be right in front of the main entrance. As we get there, prepare make our entrance dramatic." Karr said as he led the gang through the inter workings of the tunnels beneath the tribe.
They have been through many twists and turns. Many highs and lows, as they continued on this dark maze. Many, many times have they seen creatures lurking in the shadows ready to strike.
Fen, who was cowering behind Appa, decided to speak, breaking the eerie silence. "H-how do you know where to go?" He stuttered when he felt something crawl over his foot, and he couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watch, "I-it's dark, and creepy, and I can't see a thing!"
Karr sighed, "I grew up in these tunnels; I know them like the back of mine hand. It's one of two ways I get around the city."
"And that is?" Hana questioned, she was feeling concerned for how this man travels. He's basically living in the sewers... it's unhealthy. Also, she's concerned for herself. He seems a bit to shady to be fully trusted, and Hong agrees.
Hong followed Karr closely. He's been watching this man for a while, noticing every little thing he did: from the slight twitch in his hand, to the soft whispers he would let out as he talked to himself. After, the first two hours of traveling through these dark and gloomy caverns, he began to trust Karr more and more.
Karr didn't seem like a bad guy... just misunderstood...
A few more minutes passed, and the group found themselves at the grand entrance of the palace.
"Are you guys ready?" Hana as she placed a hand on Karr, and gave him a reassuring at on his shoulder.
Karr sucked in a breath, as he looked ahead towards the looming, tinted metal doors guarded by a mass of heavily armored soldiers.
Hana could feel him shaking a bit underneath her touch, "you okay? Nervous?"
Karr gulped, of course he was nervous! He was about to con a chief, someone, no less, could kill him with one word.
"Nope, not at all." He finally said. He could handle it, he was the only one who could.
Hong scoffed, "Liar. You're scared. Just admit it." Karr narrowed his eyes and Fen transitioned his gaze back and forth at the two. He then stopped and focused on Karr, giving him two thumbs up and a positive smile, "It's okay to be nervous, were here for you!" He said, "You don't have to worry about anything."
Appa then mumbled something like "except dying" but no one heard besides Fen, who smacked the other in the arm, making the bison flinch.
Hana rolled here eyes at the two and then turned back at Karr. She reassured him that they will all be together and nothing would happen.
Karr then nodded and glanced at the group, finally landing on Hong, who sighed, gave two thumbs up, and a somewhat forced grin.
He didn't know why, but seeing Hong made heart flutter in a way, but he couldn't pin point what the feeling was exactly. Whatever it was, it was weird.
He then turned and faced the palace doors again, took a deep breath, and began to "confidently" walk to the entrance. The rest group following close behind, acting like an entourage of some sort.
They were soon stopped by the same guards as yesterday.
"Halt!" They commanded. "State your name and your business here."
Karr began to "fix" himself, and stand a bit straighter, acting as if these guards meant nothing to him. Not going to lie, he was quite the actor.
"I am Karr," he said with a slight commanding tone, "and I am the Avatar."
