"Whoa hohohoho!" Lucas gazed at the gigantic palace before him, "It's ice! All ice!" He ran up and down the steps, slid across the ground and down the sides, almost slipping everytime. "I'ts a winter wonderland!" He exclaimed while spinning, eventually falling onto his but.
Weng sighed and tried to hide her face away from judging gazes with her hands, facing away from Lucas. "Stop it," She whispered, " You're embarrassing me."
Lucas looked up to her and chuckled, "Heh sorry." He still looked around in wonder at the city made of ice. As they made their way to the steps of the palace.
Everywhere they went, eyes were on the two. Some with looks of disgust, others with relieved faces. Weng didn't care, she knew why their faces were etched and contorted in that way. However, Lucas could not handle it.
He studied the looks of the people passing by, every new person who passed, the more he was confused. Lucas leaned over, onto the young princess, "Why are they staring at us like that?" He whispered, "Is there something wrong?" Another man passed and Lucas called to him, "Hey! It's okay man!"
The man's disgust only grew worse. He grumbled and muttered some nasty remarks as he passed the two.
Lucas scoffed, "Okay then. You didn't have to be so rude."
Weng sighed, "No it's fine, I deserve it anyways." Lucas looked at the girl in shock, "What did you do to get this much hate?" He asked.
Weng shrugged, "It's nothing too big, just ran away from home when i was going to get married, completely ruining my father's plan to rule the world, and everyone hates me because they're wrapped around his finger."
Weng kept walking, but didn't realize she left Lucas being. "What?" she asked as she turned around to see the young man staring at her in shock.
"And you say that's not a big deal!?" He squeaked and Weng smiled, "It's not, honestly i'm glad i did, i got to be with people who actually care about me." She grew shy and whispered the last part, barely audible for Lucas to hear.
Lucas soon caught up with the young woman and entered the palace's side gate. "So... you ran away for love." He laughed, "So cliche."
Weng sighed, "What?! No! Can we not talk about this?" She asked with an annoyed look in her face. "Sure, sure." Lucas chuckled, raising his hands in defense.
After a while, the two found their way to grand throne room with the walls lit with beautiful shades of blue, and ice chandeliers hung from the high ceiling.
Lucas gazed at the sight, but Weng was fixed on one person on the throne.
And it was not her father...
A young man, tall and lean rested in the large throne, legs crossed and resting on the armrest. "Ah.. look who decided to come back. It's been a long time hasn't it." He said and lightly giggled, "Was it too hard for a princess like you to be out there away from your home."
Weng tightened her fist, "What the hell are you doing here." The man leaned back further in the chair, tilting his head back and twirling the crown with his finger, as if this was some type of game.
Lucas squinted and rubbed his eyes like he was seeing things, "Why does he.." He whispered before realizing who he looks like and shouting out, "Kai?!"
The man on the throne sat up and stared at Lucas, obviously confused, "Who?" he asked.
Lucas widened his eyes, "Oh, never mind."
Weng looked over at Lucas once, before returning her gaze to the man, "Anyways, Jong. What are you doing on the throne, and where is my father."
Jong stood up from his seat and slowly walked over to the two, "Didn't you hear?" He asked as he leaned close to Weng and whispered in her ear, "Apparently he disappeared when he was looking for you."
Weng widened her eyes, frozen. Jong, who was still VERY CLOSE TO WENG, looked her in the eyes and smirked. "And since, there were no other officials eligible enough to take the throne, I did." He licked his lips and smiled ever so smugly.
"Oh! That's great! So, you can help us!" Lucas exclaimed, breaking the tension between the nobles.
Jong looked over to the other man while Weng looked the other way, trying to control her breath and cool down her face.
"Help you with what?" Jong asked as he turned to full face Lucas.
"Oh!" Lucas said and began explaining the whole situation of the underground war and how they are trying to stop it by gathering forces to defeat this secret army. "So that's why we came here." Lucas finished with a smile.
Jong nodded, "Sounds reasonable. However, this is something that a king would never agree to"
Weng slightly pouted, trying to hide her disappointment, "So you won't help us?"
Jong laughed, "I didn't say that! Of course i want to help you!" He gave Weng a reassuring smile. " I can start rallying forces and gaining spirit right now, just say the word and i can do it!"
Lucas and Weng's faces lighted up by this and turned to give each other a bright smile and a thumbs up.
"But on one condition."
The previous bright faces, quickly turned to one of anxiousness.
"What is it." Weng gulped as Jong faces the princess head on, giving her a smirk and said, "I'll tell you later. For now why don't you guys take a rest, it's been a long day."
Lucas smiled brightly, "Don't mind if i do!" He said and quickly ran out into the hallway, soon coming back asking where to go.
Both Weng and Jong laughed and showed the lost boy to his quarters.
