They started to pack.
One by one the group met up in the gardens behind the palace, Hana being the last to show up. She glanced towards the others, but soon glanced behind her.
"I think they are on to us. We have to go now." She said and the rest nodded. Appa then started to run slowly shifting to his bison form, and the gang all began to climb up.
They took off in secret, in the night. They made sure no one would follow them, so the princess would be in safe hands.
"So, where are we going?" Weng asked as she was snug in between Karr and Fen.
Hana turned to face her, hair blowing in the wind, looking like one of those female leads in a drama. "We're heading towards Republic City. I think there is a way for us to meet Zhulee."
Hong rose an eyebrow, "Oh, you were actually serious about Zulee. And here I always thought that you disagreed with the legend. I thought you hated the idea."
"It's not hating the game, it's hating the player." Hana began to explain. "He fled from mistakes, leaving us here to rot. And for what? To become a random performer with bunches of people screaming his name. He abandoned his duties, and continued to live selfishly."
By now she was practically yelling, Hong just giggled. "Whoa, calm down there! You don't want to scare the lovely couple." He said, gesturing to Karr and Weng.
Weng looked down blushing, while Karr stared at Hong dumbfounded. Fen saw the two's reactions, and felt sad in a way.
Fen saw how Weng looked at Karr. He knew she liked Karr, but he was uncertain about the male's feelings towards her. It was unclear if he felt the same.
Fen was upset at the thought of that. He was beginning to like the princess very much. He hoped that he could be closer to her, closer than how close Karr was.
Appa could sense this, and no doubt was he jealous. He grunted and tilted a bit leaning Fen further from Weng, as she held on to Karr.
Hana watched this love -whatever you call it- unfold. She chuckled a bit a turned back to the open sky, waiting for the towering buildings to emerge. She sighed as she looked out, and Hong soon came by her side.
"You okay," he asked, and Hana shrugged. Was she okay? Would she be fine? Can she fulfill her duty and save the world? What if she can't? What if she failed?
These thoughts ran through her mind, trying to find answers. Hana pinches the bridge of her nose to try to stop the racing tho it's, as it was giving her a headache.
"I just don't know." She began, "There is so much pressure put on me, I don't if I can make it successfully. It's different than what other Avatars have gone through." A small tear escaped her eyes as she looked out into the never ending sky. "I'm scared."
She then felt Hong wrap his arm around her shoulders and give her a squeeze, "It's okay to be scared, just remember you're not doing this alone."
Hana softly smiled before she laid her head on his shoulder. For a few minutes, the two silently watched how the day slowly turned into the night.
By this tome Karr woke up from a small nap to notice Weng was asleep cuddling him. He sucked in a breath and gently placed her on the other side.
He looked up to see Hong and Hana together. He didn't know why, but he felt hurt by the two. It's a weird and different feeling.
He frowned and continued to stretch.
Hong looked back to see Karr awake and smiled. He gently placed Hana onto a sleeping position and placed a blanket on top of her
He then worked his way over to Karr. "Hey" he said with a small smirk, "How are you and your little princess doing?"
Karr widened his eyes and turned to look back at the sleeping Weng, "It's nothing like that, we're just friends."
Hong let out a small giggle, which made Karr unconsciously smile. "But, I could say the same for you."
Hong rose an eyebrow, "Me?" He looked around and then pointed to Hana, "With her? No way! We think of each other as family. She is more of my older sister, than anything else."
Karr slowly nodded his headache n recognition, but why did Hong even ask that question? Is he genuinely curious if he was with Weng, or was it something else? All of this was leaving him confused about both the situation and himself.
"What are you thinking about." Hong whispered, as he slowly got closer to Karr. The two now sat side by side, thighs touching each other's.
Karr quickly shifted his eyes from Hong's to their close proximity, then towards the night beyond. He sucked in a breath and tried to speak, "um... well... it's." He tried to find words, but couldn't. He didn't know how to explain how he feels.
Hong smiled and patted Karr's upper knee, leaving there as he spoke, "You don't have to tell me. I get it that we just met like a week ago. We're still getting to know each other." After talking, he gave Karr's knee a squeeze and placed his hand back onto his own thigh.
Karr blushed at the touch, but when it was gone, he felt empty. He wanted more. But why?
He turned to look at Hong, who was staring back at him, a small smile playing on his lips.
He didn't notice but the two were centimeters away from touching. Karr gulped, and opened his mouth, he was about to speak before Hong looked passed him and spoke up.
"Look, Karr! We are here!" Karr swiveled his head to look at what Hong saw, and what he saw was a beautiful sight.
