It had been a few weeks since JJ had left the BAU to join the Pentagon, and the boss had no intention of filling her spot but he also knew that he had to as Elizabeth had requested a few weeks off for personal as her mother was getting sick.
"everyone in the briefing room please." Hotch spoke which made the team, which was : Derek, Elizabeth, Spencer and Emily look up from their computers.
"wonder what it is, there isn't any cases." Emily walked beside Elizabeth who shrugged.
When the four had entered the briefing room, it held Hotch, Rossi, Garcia and an unknown female who was standing in between the tech analyst. "this is agent Callahan." Aaron gave a name to the face.
"this is Derek Morgan." he was the first one to shake her hand. "Dr Spencer Reid." he gave her a small wave. "Emily Prentiss." she went over to shake her hand. "and finally, Elizabeth Hunters." the brunette walked around her boyfriend to shake the hand of the new agent.
Kate smiled at the four who know didn't look so intimidating. "it is really nice to meet you all." she rubbed her hands on her pants, which meant she was nervous to join a team who held an amazing track record. "did you just join or in another department?" Emily asked the new agent.
"i was in sex crimes." Kate nodded.
Elizabeth studied the new agent who was the new replacement for JJ, and she bet that she didn't know she was replacing anyone. "we have a case." Penelope looked up from her phone, and Hotch agreed.
"welcome." Derek joked as he sat down to Elizabeth. "thank you." Kate laughed as she placed herself next to Dave.
Garcia stood at the front of the table, which overlooked the BAU agents, "Colorado is calling your names, Crimefighters." she mentioned for everyone to open their tablets. "wow." Kate muttered as she swiped through all the pictures from the crime scene.
"you'll get used to it." Elizabeth smiled softly at her. "i hope so." the newest agent whispered.
Elizabeth went to read the ME report, which wasn't there. "where's the ME report?" she asked but Garcia shrugged. "it wasn't sent over." she responded which made Elizabeth suspicious. "can you call the ME office when we're done please?" Elizabeth asked her friend, who nodded.
"the flights three hours so we won't have time to sleep, it'll be best to go over the case." Hotch stood up when Garcia had finished introducing the victims. "wheels up in twenty." he left the room which left the remaining agents and the tech analyst.
Elizabeth closed the tablet, and stood up before walking out with Derek who was rubbing her back. "i'm so tired!" she complained. "you kept me up all night!" she glared at her boyfriend who smirked. "you weren't complaining!" he laughed as he rushed to his office to grab their go bags.
