Elizabeth had walked to the briefing area for the team and she had sat next to Emily. "welcome crime fighters." Garcia started to hand out the case files to everyone and the brunette smiled to say thank you.
"you are heading to sunny LA." the tech analyst spoke and pressed a button on her remote which was linked to the TV. "two families were killed within two days of each other. Both brutally murdered." she said and the pictures came up on the TV.
"First was the Santiago family. The father Bill, Mother Lorraine, and twin children Sally and Michael." Garcia said as the team flicked through the pictures in their files.
"the children were wrapped in their blankets." Spencer said and he looked around at everyone. "could be a sign of remorse?" JJ questioned and Elizabeth spoke up. "the children could symbolise himself." she suggested.
"the second family is the Rico's." Their photos had appeared on the screen and the murder scene was worse than the first. "he is more confident on this one." Emily said.
"the children are wrapped still but the blankets are more loose than the first." Rossi stated and the other team members nodded. "he must know the first family." Elizabeth spoke out.
"he is accelerating and another family could be in danger." Hotch stood up, closing his file. "wheels up in thirty." he walked out of the briefing room and towards his office.
Elizabeth was the last one to leave as she was staring at the photos that was left on the screen. "are you okay?" a voice had made her turn around... it was Derek.
"yeah yeah, i'm fine." she smiled towards the male. "you sure?" he asked as the female walked over to him and she gave a nod. "perfectly fine." she patted his chest and walked around him.
The brunette profiler walked down the stairs and towards the small coffee section, pouring herself a to go cup. "there's coffee on the plane." Spencer was stood behind her, holding a couple of books to his chest.
"i know." she paused and looked straight to his eyes. "i just need some now." she smiled and looked around him to see Morgan coming out of Hotch's office, both hands in his trousers pocket.
Twenty minutes later, in two SUV's the team was on their way to the tarmac to board the plane. In one, it held Elizabeth, Spencer, JJ and Rossi. In the other one, it held Emily, Hotch and Morgan.
Both cars pulled up near the plane and all of the team got out and walked to the plane. "after you." Morgan said to Elizabeth, letting her go before him. "thank you." she muttered and held her go bag tightly before climbing the stairs.
All sat down in seats in different parts of the plane, they sat away before they had to come together to speak more about the case. Elizabeth sat closer to the front of the plane, fiddling with her fingers and she hadn't noticed that Emily was in front of her.
"hey, are you okay?" the longtime agent asked the newest member. "what? oh yeah, i'm good." she smiled towards the female. "you seem out of it." she stated and Elizabeth wondered if everyone had noticed.
"just thinking." she shrugged and rubbed her palms on her pants. "wanna share?" Emily asked but Elizabeth was a quiet person and she didn't share her feelings with anyone, expect her mother and stepfather.
Emily nodded, saying that she understood that Elizabeth didn't want to share any of her thoughts. Elizabeth turned her face away from her new friend and stared out the window, not knowing that emily had stood up and left.
"okay, let's share." Hotch's voice broke Elizabeth from her dream and saw that everyone was gathering near a four seater table. The agent stood up and walked over and stood behind the chair that JJ was sitting on.
"let's talk about the first family." Rossi said and everyone opened the files again. "Bill was 45, Lorraine was 42 and the twins were 10." Derek said as everyone listened. "family means something to this unsub." Spencer spoke.
"it's more about the children that drives him." JJ said. "why wrap the children but not the parents." she carried on her point. "children symbolise innocence and life." Elizabeth finally spoke for the first time, since she spoke to Emily.
"He didn't bring the murder weapon with him." Derek lifted the picture up to read the report that the police had written. "he used a knife that he found in the kitchen." he placed the picture down.
"shows he is smart enough not to bring something that could leave a print." Rossi said and he rubbed his chin. "the same at the Rico family too. He used a different weapon though." Emily said.
"he used a belt from the fathers closet." Elizabeth muttered. "shows he isn't afraid to deviate from a specific weapon." the female carried on and everyone agreed with the new agent.
"when we land, JJ and Rossi head to the first crime scene. Spencer and Emily to the second, Morgan and Hunters to the ME and i'll set up at the station." Hotch assigned everyone their tasks.
Everyone had gone off to do their own thing as they still had four hours till they landed when a ping was heard from the laptop and Garcia's face appeared. "the local pd has just confirmed, there's another family." she told the team.
"we have the Wilkinson family. Father Dan and Mother Molly with two children Louie, 9, and Holly 11." Garcia explained the family. "the pd is faxing the photos now, you'll get them soon." she ended the call.
"hasn't even been a day yet and he has killed again. He's serial now." Rossi sighed and twisted the ring around that was placed on his middle finger. "he is getting bolder by every kill." Hotch added on.
Elizabeth had moved away from the team and sat where she was before, and she decided to call her mum. The female took out her phone and she clicked on her mums contact. "hey." she spoke into the phone.
"Nothing is impossible. in the word, you will find it says, 'i'm possible' ." - Audrey Hepburn.
