Never go in search of love. Go in search of life, and life will find you the love you seek.

The first thing that I needed to do now was to call up and speak to Jay. She seemed a bit busy since it was her first week alone in Korea. We were only texting each other, and I didn't tell her anything about my new job yet. Today, I had to do it. I texted her since it was night time in Korea, and she texted back immediately saying that she was free and aching to speak to me.

I called her.
"Heyyy," I said softly.

"Heyyy! How have you been? I miss you like crazy!" Jay uttered sleepily.

"Aww me too. I miss you so bad. Babe, tell me something. Is your bed big enough for two?" My voice shifted scales, and I was biting down on my lips to suppress my excited laughter.

"Of course, it is. Why are you asking? It isn't like I have someone to sleep over with me." I could almost see her rolling her eyes though we were only on a voice call.

"That's good then. How about the wardrobe? Is it big enough to hold two people's stuff?" I asked again, and she sighed in frustration.

"What's with you today? Are you setting me up with someone? You know that I will not settle for anyone other than Jimin," Jay made her point very clear.

"Well, I can't get you Park Jimin, but there's one thing I can do," I laughed softly.

"And that is?"

"Live with you, sleep next to you and share the wardrobe with you." I waited for her response.

After a few seconds of awkward pause, I giggled when I heard her gasp.

"AMY! Is this for real???? Babe, did you get confirmation?" The decibel level of her voice suddenly increased multiple folds.

"I'm flying this weekend," I replied to her in a calm tone.

"Oh my Gawwwwd!!! Girl I can't believe this! Why didn't you tell me anything yet?" She sounded a bit upset.

"Not that I didn't want to. You're the only one I'll tell this to, anyway. I just wanted to finalize things before I surprised you with the news," I tried not to break down. I was so done with hosting pity parties and weeping about my life.

Jay teared up at the other end, and her voice cracked.

"Amy, darling. You've been through so much, and you really deserve to live a better and happier life. I am so happy for you," she sniffed. "I love you, babe. I can't wait to meet you! Send me your flight details. I'll be right there to pick you up," she announced excitedly, every last ounce of her sleepiness flying right out the window.

"I love you, babe. I can't wait to meet you too. I'll text you the details right away. And, oh... don't forget to inform your landlord that you'll not be staying alone from now on," I smiled at my reflection in the mirror, and the smile did reach my eyes this time.

"I'll do it first thing in the morning. I knew you'd join me here someday," Jay declared and chuckled proudly.

We spoke a bit more or rather squealed for a bit more and hung up.

Feb 2019

The remainder of the week flew by where I had to vacate and pack up, shop for stuff, and sell some stuff. Phew! I was so drained of all my energy but super excited too by the end of the week.

There was no one to see me off at the airport since I was not on talking terms with my parents, and neither did I have any other close friends or colleagues that cared. However, I didn't feel lonely or bad or sad. In fact, was happy that I would be starting a new chapter of my life from now on. I wanted to bury the past here and move on in life.
