After Taehyung's car turned the corner and disappeared from sight, I walked upstairs to our house. Jay was talking to her mom on the phone, and so, even though I wanted to tell her everything about tonight, I had to wait until she was done. I quietly went to take a shower.

Stepping out of the shower after a while, I saw that Jay was still on the phone with her mom. So, I got dressed for bed and gestured to her that I would be heading to sleep. She nodded and continued speaking. Jay usually spoke with her mom once in ten days or so, and every time it was no lesser than one hour.

I was tired and sleepy and decided that I could tell her everything tomorrow. Switching off the lights in the bedroom, I lay down in bed and checked my phone one last time before I slept. There were no messages, and my eyelids were drooping shut already. But I thought I should check on Taehyung, and I texted him.

Me:
Taehyung, have you reached home?

There was no reply, and I didn't know how and when I fell asleep.

June 13, 2019

I woke up this morning when Jay was calling out to me, accompanied by noises of her scrambling around the room for gathering her stuff.

"Amy, I'm off to work. Be back early today. We'll talk about what I wanted to talk about yesterday, okay?" She shook me by my shoulder, and I barely opened my eyes and nodded to her, but Jay spoke fast and left the house.

After about five minutes of lazing around in bed, I picked up my work phone and checked for any replies from Taehyung. But I was surprised to see that the message I sent him last night was missing from the chat.

Wait, but how?

Surely, I sent him a message, and surely it wasn't a dream. I was confident even though I was extremely sleepy when I sent that message. What happened then?

I was too confused to think of anything, and my stomach was starting to rumble. So, I got up and went about my usual work. After about an hour, I was dressed and ready to go to work. I had eaten my breakfast and packed my stuff into my bag. Checking my work phone one last time, I was confused and a bit concerned too that there was still no reply from Taehyung.

I pulled out my personal phone to call a taxi. The taxi was booked, and I received a text with the details, and when I opened the messenger, I found a chat with Taehyung on this phone.

But how??

I quickly clicked on it and saw that I had mistakenly sent him the message from my personal number instead of sending it from my work number. I had saved his number on both my phones, but he didn't have my personal number, and that explained why he didn't reply. He must have probably blocked this number thinking it belonged to some creep. I facepalmed myself and got out of the house to board the taxi, making up my mind that I should clarify and not let him think as if some creep or sasaeng texted him.

I put my phones away and quietly rode the taxi. After a few minutes, I got bored and pulled out my personal phone and scrolled through my Twitter feed, only to find that the feed was full of debut anniversary wishes for Taehyung.

Oops! How did I forget?

It was the 13th of June, and I'd never once forgotten any of his debut anniversaries or birthdays in all these years. I quickly posted a wish tweet knowing fully well that he wouldn't notice it anyway, considering the millions of wishes he would be getting. Just then the realization hit me.

Taehyung must have been busy with his friends last night, and that's why he didn't reply.

He shared his debut anniversary with two other actors, Jimin and Jungkook, from the same agency, who also happened to be his close friends. The three of them debuted together in the same drama six years ago.
