68. His Penguin

Taehyung's POV

I didn't have to go out for work today, and so Amy took the day off too. Life has been stressful these past few weeks and spending time together was a much needed thing right now.

We were lying in bed, apparently watching a movie, silently basking in each other's warmth, snuggled up to one another. Amy was resting on my chest, and I was scrolling through baby goods websites on my phone looking for cot extensions for junior, since we decided that co-sleeping is better.

We have a long list of things to buy and do, but somehow we aren't getting much done.

"Baby, we got to fix up the cord banking appointment soon. It has to be done around the sixth month, and I'll be completing six months tomorrow," Amy mumbled, softly stroking my waist.

She wasn't watching the movie too?

I felt a movement against my side, which was because junior rolled, and Amy shifted to her pillow to lie down facing me.

Putting my phone aside, I got up and placed a pillow under her feet and lay back down facing her.
"Yeah, baby. I'll fix up an appointment for the day after tomorrow then. Dec 3rd, okay? That's when our screening reports will be ready for collection. So we can get it both on the same day," I tucked a few strands of her hair behind her ear and kissed her forehead.

She smiled.
"Okay, Kim MinJun's appa..." and I laughed.

Amy slowly got up and carefully went to the bathroom.

She feels the need to pee very often these days, and she hasn't been sleeping well too. Amy has been consistently waking up somewhere between 3 am and 3:30 am each day and strolls around to the kitchen for a ghost hour snack. She's experiencing reflux, and, despite her low-salt diet, the swelling in her feet is still there. It is so much now that if I poke a finger in the swollen foot, the pit created there remains for a good few seconds.

Whenever she's lying down, I always make sure her feet are propped up with pillows. As she walked back from the bathroom, I studied her walk intently, and when she lay down facing me, I turned to her and said,
"You walk so cutely these days. You know, with this round belly you walk like a cute penguin. My penguin," I kissed her cheek and gently caressed her baby bump, and she giggled.

"Tae, even when I sit down these days, my thighs don't stay together. I'm becoming rounded," she made a big circle in the air with her hand and giggled cutely.

I nodded, snuggling her closer to me.
"I noticed that... that's why you're my penguin," I sandwiched my left thigh between her knees. She usually kept a pillow there, but sometimes I put my thigh there instead.

We lay there for a little longer, discussing random things, realizing that we needed nothing more than each other's company to feel relaxed.

Later, I called up the cord banking center and fixed an appointment for the 3rd of December. We spent the rest of the day playing computer games. Amy wanted to try playing overwatch and gang beasts. She was enthusiastic but bad at playing, and it was really funny, and I had a great time teaching her to play.

I can safely play games with her since I am not addicted to games anymore. She is my drug of choice, my addiction, and today was a welcome change after so many days of stress and anxiety.

Today marked the completion of six months of pregnancy, and we have an appointment for cord banking tomorrow morning when we'll also be getting our DNA screening reports.
