It was very strange walking into his apartment seeing Vante laying on his sofa, the television casting a flickering glow on the strippers face. He thought he'd imagined the glint in his eye that accompanied the warm smile that greeted him and it was safer for his heart to believe it was his imagination, even though he could sense a change in the air between them, the little moments of tenderness from the stripper, that glance when Vante thought he wasn't looking... he had to keep his feet on the ground and accept that he would never leave the club willingly. Maybe he was using Jungkook? That was another explanation he'd had to consider, there was a possibility that he knew the policeman was his way out and Jungkook fully expected never to see him again if he managed to get Blue's empire shut down.

"Productive afternoon, Officer?" his blue hair was damp from a shower, fading to a shade of green in some places.

"Yes, thank you. Have you been okay?" Jungkook always sighed inwardly when Vante called him 'Officer', it didn't seem to matter how many times he corrected him, he did it anyway.

"I have rummaged through your entire apartment but couldn't find anything of value, then I had a shower and voila! Here I am." he said impassively.

"You obviously didn't look in the right places. I'm going for a shower then we can order food?" Jungkook said whilst removing his boots.

"Already sorted. I cooked earlier, it's ready when you are."

"You cook?" he stopped in his tracks and felt bad for the evident surprise in his voice.

"I don't get the opportunity usually so thought I'd make the most of it. Plus your kitchen needed to be messy for a little while, it's far too pristine."

Jungkook laughed "Is it still messy?"

"I would love to say yes, just to see your reaction."

"There wouldn't be a reaction." Jungkook said completely untruthfully as he headed for his bedroom, taking fresh clothes into the bathroom and turning on the shower. He was sure he heard something that sounded like a snicker but he couldn't be sure, resorting to being hopeful that it was what he heard.

The hot water felt good as he lathered himself up, he was undecided as to whether he believed that Vante had looked through his apartment. There wasn't really anything of value here, just that watch and even that had more sentimental value than anything else. There was no point dwelling on it, either he had or he hadn't and either way, he was still here, so it didn't really make any difference.

Jungkook thought about Jimin and how much easier his life was, meeting Li Weng in that bar and not having the drama that appeared to surround Vante. He knew Jimin would want to help when he found out that he wanted to get the clubs shut down but he would have to stress to him that he mustn't tell anyone, including Li Weng. Pillow talk was dangerous and could ruin a whole operation and no one knew Jimin's new man so he would have to ban him from discussing anything with him, until such a time when it didn't matter. Jimin was far from stupid, he was dependable, professional and he cared a lot but there was always the apprehension because Li Weng was a mystery aside from the information supplied by Jimin himself.

Jungkook felt slightly nauseous at the thought of everything that needed doing and the possible consequences if it didn't go to plan but he had to try. When he rejoined Vante in the kitchen, catching sight of the bruises and marks on his skin, knowing that behind the mask there was a man who craved normality, he knew he was doing the right thing. Hearing the way Vante spoke about himself, even down to something as minute as having strawberry ice cream, was difficult for Jungkook because most of the things that the stripper craved, he took for granted.

"You have many talents" the policeman said as he was handed a plate of steak and stir fried vegetables.

"It's just some steak and vegetables. Nothing major, officer Jeon."
