In the days that followed, Jimin had visited Jungkook and Tae twice, bringing them the phone so they could be in contact with the others, even if Tae hadn't wanted to talk to anyone. Jungkook had spoken to Namjoon, Yoongi and Hobi, getting updates on Jin and filtering it through to Tae who had listened intently to all the information that had come from that night.

There was so much to take in and he wasn't ready to speak to anyone about it. He passed messages through Jungkook to Jin, answering any questions that were asked about how he was, even if it wasn't always the whole truth but he knew that Jin was probably the only person to understand how he was feeling to a certain extent. The hospital were taking great care of him and he had come through the worst, with Namjoon speaking to Jungkook about how Jin had broken down when they'd told him he was to be discharged and he realised he didn't have anywhere to call home anymore. It was strange for Jungkook who suddenly had something very much in common with his friend since Namjoon found out that Jin was Dente. What began as something that no one really understood, where Jungkook was embroiled in the world of the clubs because of his fixation on Vante, now everyone appeared to get it and their lives too were affected in one way or another.

Namjoon was holding it together in front of Jin, dealing with the medical staff and keeping track of what was happening back at the station. It was a long process, the evidence from the clubs was stacking up against Blue and his men and with Cobalt dead, they didn't have the backing of their super lawyer. It was beneficial to Blue to keep his circle as small as possible over the years, the less people involved the better, he learned very early on to keep his business private, that way he would know if any information was leaked but now, with Cobalt gone, what had worked in his favour was working against him. Namjoon barely left Jin's side unless it was at the request of the medical staff or work related, he called Jungkook every once in a while while Jin was asleep, watching him through the large window of his room in case he woke up. It was those times that he let his guard down and shed a few tears, over the course of their relationship, he'd almost taken it for granted that every other Wednesday he would be at the hotel when he arrived but recent events meant that he was seeing things from a different perspective. He realised how precious their time together had been for Jin, how much that normality and happiness had kept him going but also if something had happened to him at the clubs, Namjoon would never have known and wouldn't have ever seen him again. he felt awful for taking him for granted and for not being open about their jobs but hindsight was a wonderful thing and Jungkook had given him a verbal kick up the backside.

The bandage on Jungkook's ankle had become more uncomfortable than the injury itself so that had come off. He had spent a lot of time with ice packs everywhere and he could see the improvements each day, feeling stronger and walking faster... albeit a long way off normal. Tae had a habit of giving him the once over and looking at his injuries, he bathed the ones that needed it and held ice packs against his skin when Jungkook's arms got tired. He couldn't shake the overwhelming sadness when he saw all the bruising that seemed to get worse as each day passed and the swelling went down, Jungkook caught him with tears in his eyes many times and in his own gentle way, tried to reassure him and tell him that it wasn't his fault but Tae believed differently.

One morning they were laying in bed, Tae laying on Jungkook's chest as he always did, they hadn't left the apartment at all and the policeman had an idea.

"Tae?"

"Yeah."

"I thought we could go out for a couple of hours today."

"Why?"

"We haven't been out and we could do with some fresh air."

"Okay."
