It was a few hours later when they decided to leave the picnic site, the final straw being that Jungkook was still convinced the cloud looked like a rabbit and one ear was just out of view, Tae wasn't having any of it. They couldn't agree and had laughed a lot about it so called it a day, walking down the path towards the car.
Jungkook had the bag on his back and as they walked side by side, their hands had brushed a few times, he held his breath as he linked their fingers, he kept looking ahead but saw Tae look at him out of the corner of his eye. They stayed like that until they reached the car, having to let go to throw the bag in the back and get in.
"Thank you... thank you for today." he spoke with sincerity, it had been the most relaxing day he'd had and he had very much enjoyed the time with the policeman.
"I enjoyed spending the time with you, Tae."
It was still strange for him to hear his real name being spoken but he liked how it sounded coming from Jungkook. "It wasn't a rabbit though." he said, smiling.
"It definitely was. I think you need to see an optometrist." Jungkook grinned and pulled out of the car park.
"Is that why I find you attractive... because my eyesight is bad?"
Jungkook had to gather his thoughts very quickly because he was in danger of crashing the car as the surprise comment had the breath sticking in his throat. "You do?" was what left his mouth, it wasn't what he intended to say but it was what came out.
"Have bad eyesight?" Tae asked, knowing full well that was not what Jungkook's question meant.
"Yes? Do you wear contacts?" Jungkook didn't want Vante to return just yet and could sense that if he was pushed, the defenses would kick in and he would lose him again.
Tae smirked "I do wear contacts from time to time but they are for effect, usually costume related. I have 20/20 vision, Kookie."
Jungkook had got the answer to his initial question in the tone of the answer, the last part told him everything and he really liked hearing the nickname. "I've never worn contacts, aren't they uncomfortable?"
"Not really, you get used to them."
Tae looked around them as Jungkook pulled up outside his home, looking at the driver with big eyes, eyelashes long and curled "Is your offer still open?"
Jungkook frowned, unsure of what Tae was referring to "Offer?"
"To come back to yours? If you aren't busy and the offer is still open... I would like to.... But if not then it's totally fine... I will see you around, Offi..."
Jungkook cut him off before he could finish the sentence "You are always welcome, Tae. I would very much like it if you would come home with me."
Tae smiled and appeared to come over a bit shy "Is it okay if I run upstairs and get some clothes?"
"I will wait, you go ahead." Jungkook knew how rare the shyness was and his heart felt so full because he wanted Tae to feel that he could be himself all the time.
"Kookie?" Tae looked worried, his hand on the door handle ready to eject himself from the car.
"Yes, Tae?"
"I live here... this is my home... with Yoongi and Hobi... this is where I live."
A smile broke out onto Jungkook's face "Do you want me to come up or should I wait here?" he had considered many responses to Tae's admission but didn't want him to feel that it was as much of a big deal as they both knew it was and he was certain that 'I know' would ensure Vante's return.
