Blue

Chasing

It was deathly quiet, aside from the faint sound of traffic from the road below. Tae looked around the apartment, the kitchen he'd made a mess of (even if he'd made sure it was tidy before the policeman got home), the sofa he'd already made so many memories on and acknowledgment of how so much had changed since the first time Jungkook had fucked him on it and he had fallen asleep. He felt sick trying to urge his feet closer to the door because he knew Yoongi was waiting for him downstairs; he felt safe here, even if he was alone.

He hadn't promised Jungkook that he would be here when he got home from work but he had the feeling that he knew he would have to leave in order to get ready for work. It was one of many unspoken things between them, some things he was grateful for, like not having to talk about Mr Ex. He'd seen the tension in Jungkook's jaw when he caught a glimpse of the bruises or when Tae winced and yet still, he hadn't asked.

He opened the door and took a deep breath, closing his eyes and getting himself into Vante mode, unsure of when he would be able to be himself again. He found his swagger as he walked down the hallway and out into the fresh air, getting into the passenger side of Yoongi's car.

"You look better, kid. He took care of you well, then?"

"Yeah he did okay." Vante turned his head and looked out of the window.

"He must be special, V, you don't let anyone in usually. Be careful, yeah?"

"He's not special. Why look a gift horse in the mouth?"

Yoongi sighed, he had known Vante long enough to know when his defenses were up "You can't fool me, V. Whether you will admit your feelings or not, it's quite obvious that the cop is very keen on you. Azure is watching him, I don't know why, but he is."

Vante knew why, he knew that Azure wanted to make sure Jungkook stayed around the club and got close to him. He didn't know what Azure thought the police had on Blue because every time he had attempted to speak to Jungkook about it, he really didn't know much at all. That wasn't the answer that Azure and co would want to hear but he didn't know what else he could tell them, surely if the police had something damaging on Blue, they would have taken him down by now? He really didn't understand any of it but couldn't see a way out.

"Has Azure said anything?"

"Not to me but I've heard him talking about the cop. He was in a meeting yesterday with Cobalt, Teal and Aqua."

"At Birds?"

"I was at Starlings last night. Teal hasn't been around for ages, then suddenly appears. Cyan was there later on but he'd been at Magpies."

"They were talking about Jungkook?"

"Yeah. They were talking about two cops and from what I heard, one of them was the one you've been with."

"What other cop?"

"I don't know, V. I only picked up on your cop because they mentioned you. I reckon they want you to keep an eye on him because of the Lovebird."

"Lovebird? What?"

"Jesus, kid, do you not know anything? Lovebird is the drug they sell, it's huge between the three clubs. They stagger its release at the three clubs so it actually works out that one of the clubs has it every month, sometimes twice a month. I reckon that's why they want you getting close to the cop, in case the police get a whiff of it."

Vante, returned to looking out the window as Yoongi parked up. This was information that he'd had no idea of before now and it made more sense than the crap he'd been told by Azure. He was obviously being used to keep an eye on Jungkook and they expected him to alert them, should he get wind of anything. However, he didn't know who the other cop was or how he was involved. He was sure that Jungkook would tell him if they were planning on raiding the clubs, they'd had enough conversations about Blue for him to believe that.
