Namjoon left the office and went to sit back at the bar hoping to be able to smooth things over with Yoongi and gloss over what had happened. He felt as if he was in shock and he prayed that Dente had heard him when he told him his undercover name and that he couldn't say anything. It dawned on him that was the first time they'd been together and not rushed into each other's arms, the first time he hadn't felt Jin's beautiful lips on his own, the first time that they'd looked at one another as if they were strangers.

They both needed to stay until near to closing so the plan was that Namjoon would carry out his job for the night then meet Dente in one of the side streets near Starlings. He knew Teal wouldn't be there but he couldn't take any chances, his mind whirring with where they could go without being traced. He just had to hope that whatever Cyan and Teal were up to, it didn't involve him so no one would be watching him.

The situation with Yoongi seemed to be back to as it had been before he smashed the glass, with Yoongi joking that Namjoon had been bowled over by Dente's performance... if only he knew how close to the truth that was. His biggest challenge of the evening was trying not to look at Dente as he worked the floor and spoke to the punters, he didn't know if Dente was one of the workers who offered backroom services and his stomach churned at the thought.

At the end of the night he had collected all the cash and put it into the bags, made sure Cyan's office was secure and driven to Starling's where he deposited the cash in the black safe. Starling's was quiet, it was winding down for the night with only a few people at the bar and the bar staff milling around, cleaning up. He didn't stick around to speak to anyone, they were all busy, trying to get through the next few hours until the club officially closed. He had almost been in a trance, chanting to himself each step to ensure he didn't make any mistakes because it was imperative now more than ever that he went undetected.

He decided to ditch his car as he had done when he went to the hotel, parking at the same complex and doing exactly as he had done that day. It wasn't too far from Starling's and by the time he pulled up in the car Dente knew, he was waiting for him, sliding into the passenger seat quickly so they could move on to somewhere safer.

"Where are we going?" Dente asked.

"Somewhere out of the city. I need to make sure we are safe."

"I didn't ever intend to hurt you, Joon. My world is so complicated and I didn't think you would want me if you knew what I was."

Dente's mind had been flooded with questions since they parted at Bluebirds, he'd run through the things he wanted to say while finishing his shift. He was grateful for the way the clubs were run in the respect that it was the bar staff who closed up and that was why Yoongi and Hobi were trusted by Blue so much after working there for years.

"Maybe not, I don't know but I'd rather not have found out the way I did and fucking hell, does it complicate things now."

"What are you doing working for Blue?"

"I'm undercover."

"You're a cop?" Dente couldn't hide his shock.

"I'm the Sergeant at the local station but I also go undercover. I don't do it very much these days but a friend asked me to and we've wanted to take Blue down for a while so here I am."

Dente couldn't be mad at him, he had said he worked in law and he hadn't lied, they hadn't ever had the discussion about work so roles certainly were never spoken about. He had no room to complain when he was the one who had blatantly lied about his profession, at the very least, Namjoon had kept to the truth loosely.

"Which friend?" Lots of puzzle pieces were crashing down, slowly slotting themselves together as he made a lot of assumptions.

"Jungkook, he has been seeing one of your guys."
