"Tris! Tris, what's wrong?" A voice frantically yells. "Wake up! Wake up!"

My eyes dart open and I violently slash the air with my hands. The room is dark and I can't see anything except for a large figure, which is holding me, and a thin shadow hovering over my bed.

"Get away!" I shout. I'm still in a panic, afraid that they are going to get me and my family. "Get them away from me!"

"Tris, it's okay." The lights go on and I can see that it is Tobias. "No one is going to get you. You're safe." He is squeezing my shoulders as he lies on my bed and I weakly crumple into him.

"But they...they're coming." A sob escapes me.

"No. You're safe." Tobias repeats. "It was just a dream."

Finally, I calm down completely and realize that none of it was real. The blonde, pale lady and boy with the fork in his eye were just a part of a bad nightmare. I take shaky breaths and try to erase the images from my mind.

"What was that all about?" Cara asks, keeping her head focused on the monitor.

"Just a bad dream."

"So this is a new thing?" She questions.

"I don't know. I guess so; I mean...I still don't remember anything." I bashfully admit. I'm embarrassed that I can't remember my past. I hate to disappoint these people who seem to care so deeply about me.

Tobias let's go of me after hearing my comment. "I'm sorry, I thought you remembered. I didn't mean to..."

"No, no it's okay." I pause before saying, "Your embrace helped, I think."

A slight smile slides onto his lips. I want to lean back into him but am afraid I will be too intruding. I start out slowly inching backwards but then realize how awkward my movements are, so I change my pace to be more natural until I feel Tobias's chest against my back.

"It's only three in the morning," Cara wearily checks her watch, "and nothing changed for you medically. So I think it would be smart if we all just tried to get some sleep."

I sit up to let Tobias slide onto his bed directly next to mine. He pulls the covers over him and lies his head down on the pillow.

"Goodnight again, Tris," He says as he closes his eyes.

As soon as I shut my eyes, the image of the lady and boy appear. I immediately open them in a short panic. I know that I won't be getting any sleep tonight, so instead I watch as Tobias falls asleep. I don't know why I'm so drawn to him. He doesn't come across as very welcoming. Still, there's a complexity to him that is so mysterious and beautiful.
