Calm winds stir the autumn leaves
The day grandpa grew disgusted with me
For he's southern through and through
So he just didn't get bisexuality
I was fourteen, days before my first date
I wanted to be honest about my mentality
So I confessed to those closest to me
My brother was kind, and my sister's too
But grandpa crushed me completely
I told him about my date, he asks 'what's her name?'
'That's not a girl's name'
'I know'
His face then will never leave my memory
Disappointment and disgust, he stopped speaking to me
I hated being me, something I couldn't help but be
Eventually he spoke to me again but the damage had already been done
We're not as close these days
