The bitter cold bites at my skin, and I realize the power's gone
Inches and inches of snow in Texas? No no, something must be wrong
A winter storm unlike I've ever seen in life, though my life so far hasn't been long
Holy shit I've never been this cold before, I just wish this disaster would move along
Long nights, curled next to the crackling fire
No lights, no water, barely any food at all
A week later, and the world is thawing
I realized something, about this thought that was always gnawing
I wanted to leave this place, for the North I was longing
But could I handle cold and snow? Or will the Texas sun always be calling?
