I remember a day
I was just a boy
The sky was dark and gray
Big sister and I in the doorway
Watched the day wash away
But then we had an idea
Why don't we go out to play?
No thunder or lightning to speak of
Just pouring rain from the skyways
Mom said it was okay
The rain was heavy, it could turn the sidewalk to clay
Felt like the rain could wash us away
But we played anyway
I remember it like it was yesterday
