[Chapter Twenty-Eight: The End of Vengeance]

As all of us were busy on our ways, all of us stopped moving when we heard a noise outside.

Pinakiramdaman namin ang paligid.

I looked at Meghan and signalled her to go to the door while I'm carefully reloading my guns.

But before Meghan could go closer to the steel door, may narinig na kaming putok ng baril at tumama ito sa pintuan.

We've been found.

"Meghan, Life, Corpse. Block the door!" Mabilis akong naglakad palapit kay Shot na nagmamadali sa pagtipa ng keyboard habang tutok na tutok sa monitor ang mga mata niya.

"Where the hell is our back-up?!"

"It's in your hands, damn it!"

"I mean, the back-up from Headmistress! Akala ko ba nagpapadala ka na ng mensahe?!"

"I'm trying!" Mas tinutok pa niya ang mukha niya sa monitor.

Naiinis na tumingin ako sa may pintuan, sunod sunod ang naririnig naming putok ng baril na tumatama sa pintuan. They're really eager to destroy the steel door to get us in here.

"It's transmitting!"

"Hurry! Goddamn it!"

When the three of them couldn't block the door anymore, umatras nalang sila at pumwesto para maghanda kung sakaling makapasok sila.

"I got them!"

I aimed my gun at the door before turning my head to Shot, "Okay! Tell them our location and tell them to bring a team to this place, we can't handle this army, we don't have any magazine left!"

As we could see how the steel door started to be filled with circles caused by the bullets, we all stepped backwards and looked sharply at the door.

This isn't the end, Acrid will fall tonight.

"The base is responding!" Sigaw ni Shot.

I didn't answer, nanatiling nakatingin lang ako nang matalim sa pintuang metal na unti-unti nang nagninipis dahil sa mga balang tumatama dito.

"They'll send the Bow Hawk team and we already know they have big weapons with them! They'll be here in 30 minutes!!"

"What the- 30 minutes?! Gusto ba nilang mamatay tayo rito?! We'll get out of this room and this building with the case, tell them to hurry the fuck up!" Hindi makapaniwalang sabi ko, tiningnan ko si Shot na patuloy pa rin ang pagtipa sa keyboard.

"We can't hide here forever! Tell them to be quick as possible, we won't let death to take us today." Rinig kong sabi ni Life.

"And..." Pabilis na nang pabilis ang paggalaw ng kamay ni Shot sa keyboard, we could hear how loud it is with the guns outside.

"Done!"

Kasabay noon ang pagbutas ng pintuan na nakapag-alerto saamin.

"Hide." Utos ko bago naunang tumago sa likuran ng lumang shelf sa loob ng kwarto.

When all of us are all hidden, the door broke down revealing several armed men looking around the room.

I looked at Life as she looked back at me.

"Don't shoot." I mouthed as her.

"Don't —"

Halos mapamura ako nang biglang lumabas si Meghan sa pinagtataguan niya at unang pinagbabaril ang mga pumasok, we had no other choice but to face them as well.
