"Bon appetite!" Dallas told his grandpa as he put a bowl of oatmeal in front of him. "I'm not french." His grandpa replied. "I know!" Dallas hollered as he walked into his bedroom to put on a hoodie and shoes. After they ate breakfast Dallas drove his grandpa over to the doctor's office. "You did it." The doctor told Dallas' grandpa as they excited the room. "Where am I?" He asked confused. "How is he?" Dallas asked the doctor. "Well he has alzheimer's you know that, and unfortuantly there isn't anything we can do about it." The doctor responded. "I understand." Dallas said. "C'mon grandpa let's get you home." Before leaving the doctor spoke. "I'll have the bill sent to your house. " Dallas walked off with his grandpa.

"Snow?" Grandpa asked Dallas as they got out of the truck. "Yes grandpa that's snow!" Dallas replied. "Let's go inside, it's cold." Dallas said as the wind blew. "When I was young my pup got lost in the snow." His grandpa said making no sense as they got inside their tiny house. "Is that so, do you remember your pups name!?" Dallas asked turning the heat up. "Uhh, I forget." His grandpa responded yawning. "You tired?" Dallas asked. "yeah, I think I am." He sounded more like a four year old than an old man. "C'mon then I'll tuck you into bed!" Dallas guided his grandpa into the dark bedroom. "get some rest, I'll be in the living room if you need anything." Dallas said leaving a crack in the door.

"Dallas you home?" Mrs, Adams knocked on the door. "Hi Mrs, Adams!" Dallas chirped. "What can I help you with?" Mrs, Adams gave Dallas a warm smile. "Well I felt bad for not being able to watch your grandpa yesterday, so I came today!" She smiled. "Oh, well thank you!" Dallas said "Come in!" She came in and took off her heavy fur coat. "He is just taking a nap right now." Dallas said. "Okay!" She chirped. "oh and he might wake up hungry...." Dallas started. "Dallas, go have fun, I know exactly what I am doing. Have you forgotten that I have done this before!" She smiled making herself at home. "Okay. I'll be back soon." Dallas said. She chuckled. "I'm not going anywhere. Take all the time." She responded. "Okay thank you so much!" Dallas said leaving "Bye!" Mrs, Adams said "Bye!" He responded.

There was a knock on Liberty's front door. "Pizza is here!" I told my dad. "I'll get it!" He said going to the front door. They were both sat on the floor playing go fish. "Okay thank you!" Her dad said setting the pizza on the coffee table. "Nice and warm!" He said grabbing a slice. "Do you have a ace?" I asked. "Go fish." He said as Liberty grabbed a card off of the deck. "Do you have a king?" He asked. Liberty pursed her lips and gave up her card. "I hate this game!" Liberty expressed her opinion. "Just one more round." Her dad said. "Ugh fine." She replied as there was another knock on her door. "Who is that?" She asked. "They probably forgot our breadsticks or something." He said going though his cards. "I guess I'll get it" She said. "Thanks sweetie!" He replied.

"Hey Libby!" Dallas said with a smile on his face as he saw Liberty open the door. "Dallas? What. I thought you couldn't make it today?" Liberty asked. "Something cleared up, plus I really do want to meet your old man!" Dallas smirked! "Well come in I guess!" She said smiling like crazy. "Who you calling an old man!?" Liberty's dad said with a small smile on his face. "Sorry sir, it's just an expression!" Dallas responded shaking his hand. "I know son!" He flashed a smile! "Make yourself at home! Grab a slice!" Liberty's dad said to Dallas. "Thank you very much!" Dallas grabbed a slice and sat next to Liberty. "So Dallas, what do you want with my daughter? Do you want to have sex with Liberty?" Her dad asked.  "Dad!" I said nearly choking on my food. "Uh, no sir." Obviously Dallas was nervous. "Why?" Her dad questioned Liberty gave him a glare. "You don't have to..." Liberty started. Dallas smiled inturrupting Liberty! "Because we have all the time in the world to make sure it's what both of us want and I wouldn't have a clue on what to do" Dallas smiled looking over at Liberty who was blushing. "Besides the two of us are just friends." Liberty's smile diminished. "Your a good guy, son.!" Her dad said. "Well thank you I appreciate that!" Dallas responded. "Well, I guess I will leave you to alone." He said standing up and stretching. "It was nice meeting you!" Dallas chirped. "You too." He responded. "Bye dad." Liberty said through gritted teeth.

"I am so sorry about my dad, he can be so, what's the word?" Liberty struggled to find a word. "Like a father." Dallas said. "I would act exactly the same if I had a baby girl and a random guy just shows up in her life!" Dallas smiled making Liberty giggle. "You just have a way with people don't you? I can already tell that my dad likes you!" Liberty said. "What can I say...skills!" Dallas popped his collar. "But you were a little difficult!" Liberty smiled. "Well what can I say!" Liberty mocked Dallas popping her collar. Dallas laughed. "Do you want to go for a walk? It's really pretty with all the snow everywhere!" Dallas said. "Yeah let's go!" Liberty grabbed her puffy jacket.

Dallas was right, everything did look beautiful! The ground was covered in snow and the trees, as well as the mountains in the distance. They walked to a nearby park and chilled on the swings! "Favorite color?" Liberty asked. "Navy blue! Yours?" Dallas spoke looking at the empty playground in front of them. "Orange!" Liberty said. "Really?" Dallas questioned. "Yeah, you got a problem!" Liberty joked. "No no, I just okay!" Dallas surrendered. "What's your favorite type of food?" Liberty pursed her lips. "I actually really like shushi so I'm going to say Chinese food!" Dallas gave her a blank look. "What?" She smiled. "You're just extremely weird!" They laughed. "Oh really? Well then what's your favorite food, Mr. Perfect!" Liberty crossed her hands. "Obviously Mexican food is the bomb.com!" Dallas smiled with his hands in his pockets. "Okay, it is pretty good!" Liberty admitted! The rest of the afternoon they talked about silly small things and got to know eachother even more, till the sun set.

"Well what about spring? The weather is practically perfect!" Dallas said. They were arguing about which season is better winter or spring. "Yeah, but can you do this in the spring?" Liberty ran to the front of her yard and started making snow angels in the snow! "Well no, I guess you can't do this in spring either!" Dallas made a snowball and through it at Liberty!. "Oh my gosh Dallas!" Liberty smiled making a snowball of her own and chucking it at Dallas. This ladies and gentlemen conmenced the snowball fight!

Dallas was the first to surrender as he laid on the floor staring at the stars. "Thanks for not giving up on me." Liberty said laying next to Dallas as they stared at the stars together. "What do you mean?" Dallas looked into Liberty's eyes. "You know, for actually taking to the time to get to know me." Liberty confessed. "It was easy! All you had to do was talk!" Dallas said with a goofy smile on his face! Dallas' phone went off. "Aren't you going to get that?" Liberty asked as they laid in the snow. "Nah it's probably just Jake wanting to see if we can hang out." Dallas said nonchanatly, putting his arm behind his head. "Besides I'd rather be here with you!" Liberty smiled "Ohhhh, I uhhh..." Liberty awkwardly said blushing. Liberty was at a loss for words. After a few minutes of laying in the snow and looking at the stars in confortable silence Dallas finally spoke up. "I should be heading home before it get's any later." Dallas stood up and helped Liberty up as well. "Yeah of course!" Liberty spoke softly. Her breath was visible from the cold weather. "I'll see you at school Monday!" Dallas spoke. "Dallas we have a three week break for the holidays remember!" Liberty giggled. "Oh yeah your right." Dallas replied. "Well see you later!" Liberty smiled. Dallas smiled back and began walking over to his truck, but turned around at last minute. "Uhh, actually...would you like to grab lunch sometime next week?" Dallas asked. "Yeah sure, that would be nice!" Liberty smiled. Dallas smiled back. "Bye Libby!"
