Later that same stormy night Dallas called. Liberty ignored his call until he called five times more in the spam of three minutes. She eventually answered is call. "What do you want?" Liberty said harshly through her phone. "Liberty..." Dallas was crying. "What? What's wrong Dallas?" Liberty's voice transformed into a soothing and softer voice. "Dallas why are you crying?" Liberty asked. "It's...It's my grandpa. We are in the hospital." Dallas cried and sniffled. "Oh gosh, I'm on my way." Liberty replied as he eyes began to get a little misty. "Please hurry." Dallas said before hanging up. Liberty's dad wasn't home but his truck was. She grabbed the keys and sped to the hospital.

"Dallas, Dallas I am here." She said walking into the room. Dallas' grandpa was pale and laying on a hospital bed with an IV in his arm connected to a machine. "Liberty' Dallas said hugging Liberty. He sank his face into her shoulders and sobbed for minutes on end. "....Dallas...." His grandpa spoke softly while trying to lift his hand. "Grandpa, I'm here grandpa." Dallas held his grandpa's hand and cleaned his face off with his other hand. "...Liberty..." His grandpa spoke trying to hold up his other hand. Liberty was balling her eyes out by the time she held his hand. "When....I die...I don't want any tears." Dallas' grandpa said short of breath. "I...love you..both!" He smiled and then the only audible sound in the room was the continues sound of the heart monitor. He had died. "Nooooooooo GRANDPA. DON'T LEAVE ME." Dallas hit the bed sheets and began to cry even louder. "Dallas, just let him go." Liberty ran over to Dallas who was squeezing his grandpa's wrinkled hand. "Why, why did this happen..." Liberty squeezed Dallas into a tight hug being gentle enough so he could breath. "Here take this, you need it more than I do." Liberty said reaching into her pocket and pulling out the two thousand dollars. "No I can't, it's yours." Dallas responded. Liberty grabbed Dallas' cheeks and kissed him passionately, she used it as a distraction to sneak the money into his pocket.

The funeral consisted of Liberty, Dallas, and Liberty's father. It was very small and very special. Dallas spoke to his grandpa through the coffin before they burried him next to Dallas' parents. Next to his tomb stone Liberty laid a red and white rose.
