The sun was out and shining, it was nice to have a change in the weather from all the rainy days earlier in the week. Liberty woke up naturally from her deep sleep without her alarm clock. She slowly opened her crusty hazel green eyes and looked at her clock. "Shit, not again!" Liberty threw her covers and jumped out of bed as fast as she could and sprinted to her bathroom. "I am going to be so late." She told herself as she wet her tooth brush and added some toothpaste to it and began brushing her teeth. Liberty then proceeded to splashing her face with cold water to get the dry drool off of her right cheek. She quickly threw her dirty blonde hair into a messy bun and ran back into her room.
She opened her closet doors and grabbed the first thing she could find which was her dad's old fire station hoodie in navy blue, which was over sized on her medium sized body. She put on her favorite pair of black jeans and her worn out black combat boots. Liberty grabbed her school bag and shoved in her art supplies, she held her books in her arms and ran downstairs. "I guess a banana will do." She grabbed a banana off of the fruit stand and shoved it in her bag. Liberty noticed a note on the kitchen table. "Have a good day today kiddo, love dad!" She read aloud and shoved the note into her pocket with a smile on her face.
The cold winter air hit her face as she opened the door to leave. She put on her hood and tightened the strings. She walked over to her rustic red bicycle and put her bag and books in the front basket and started to peddle down her driveway. Her nose and cheeks turned a slight shade of pinkish red from the cold weather as she road on the sidewalk. She looked at her watch eagerly and peddled faster and faster. As she neared Hamilton Pond High school she heard the bell ring and she peddled even harder and faster. Some students who were in the parking lot with their significant others began to run inside.
She parked her bike in her usual spot and chained it to the metal rails. She grabbed her bag from the basket and put it on her left shoulder and she grabbed her books as the tardy bell rang. "Oh, no no no." Liberty began to run and tripped on the uneven side walk dropping her books and her bag making her things go all over the cold and hard pavement. "My life sucks" She whispered under her breath as she quickly began to gather her things. Liberty quickly stood up and ran into the warm building. "Wait girl...you forgot your wallet." Dallas shouted discovering that he didn't even know who the mysterious girl was, which is weird because Dallas is friends with everyone at school. Liberty didn't hear Dallas and continued to run inside. Dallas ran a hand through his soft brown hair, that has a great contrast with his bright green eyes. Even though his nice muscles and handsome appearance make him look like a total jerk and an asshole, he kindly put Liberty's wallet in his backpack to return to her next time he saw her.
After the school bell rang signaling the day was over, Liberty shoved her books into her locker, took out her art supplies and paper canvas and shoved it into her bag. She shut her locker and walked out into the coldness. Most students were chatting to their friends and making plans of what they were going to be doing over the weekend, since it was Friday. Liberty unchained her bike from the rail and rode off.
Dallas was walking out when he saw Liberty riding away. "Wait. umm... girl" He shouted hoping she would hear him, but she just kept riding on. "Hey man, what's up!" Jake, one of Dallas' friends said. "Hey Jake!" They did their bro handshake. "Nothing, do you by any chance know who that girl was that just rode off on her bike?" Jake smiled enabling both his dimples. "No, she is probably just a nobody. Why does someone have a crush!!" Jake said in a baby voice pinching Dallas' cheeks. "Will you quit!" Dallas slapped Jake's hands away from his face. "I do not have a crush on her I don't even know her." Jake shot his hands up in the air. "Okay, if you say so! So are you coming to my 'eighteenth birthday' party Saturday night? My parents are going to be out of town so you know what we are going to do!!" Dallas thought a minute. "That's tomorrow right? Yeah, I will be there!" Dallas said. "Okay cool! Well I got to go my Courtney is waiting for me." Jake said before walking over to his long term girlfriend.
