"Grandpa?" Dallas chirped walking into his grandpa's tiny kitchen. "Grandpa." Dallas spoke louder. "Boy, I'm not your grandpa." Dallas' grandpa responded while he rocked himself in his rocking chair. Dallas lives with his grandpa in a tiny two bedroom house in the middle of no where. His grandpa has Alzheimer's disease, his memory deteriorates everyday and is nearly impossible for him to hold any memories.

Dallas chuckled. "Yes you are grandpa, see we have the same nose!" Dallas pointed to his nose. "Who are you?" His grandpa said. "I'm going to make you breakfast okay, Grandpa." Dallas said cracking two eggs in am old frying pan. "I'm not hungry." His grandpa said moving to a kitchen chair. "Well you got to eat and where are your pills? You need to take them." Dallas said trying to do two things at once. "No, I don't want to take them...they don't do any good anyways." His grandpa said. "Where did you put them?" Dallas asked flipping the eggs. "I forgot. Who are you again?" His grandpa said. Dallas laughed and looked under an old newspaper from last week. "Found them. Now here take one, doctor's orders." Dallas poured his grandpa some orange juice and watched him take it. "You only have about two more, I'll run into town today and get some more for you. Will you let me borrow your truck?" Dallas asked. "A truck? I don't have a truck?" His grandpa responded. "Yes you do. You let me borrow it last night." Dallas said putting the cooked eggs on a plate. "Ohh." His grandpa said almost in a questionable voice. "Okay eat your food. I'm going to get changed." Dallas said.

Dallas went into his small bedroom with boring beige walls. He grabbed a plain white shirt and threw a sweater over it and his leather jacket. He put on some blue jeans and his clarks. He walked back into the kitchen and poured himself a warm coffee. "I'm tired." His grandpa said. "Okay well eat finish your food and I'll tuck you into bed so you can take a nap." Dallas sipped on his coffee.

Dallas tucked his grandpa into bed and laid a soft kiss on his forehead. "I'll be back by noon grandpa." Dallas spoke softly. His grandpa looked at the clock which read seven a.m. Dallas closed the door on his way out of the bedroom.  He grabbed the keys to his grandpa's old truck and drove off.

Liberty woke up at a knock on her front door, just like yesterday. She had a feeling it was Dallas, because no one ever visits and who visits someone at eight a.m. She opened her eyes and found herself in her art studio where she was painting the night before. She still had a brush in her hand and some drool on her cheek. Her hair was all in a tangled mess, she had paint all over her body and on her old clothes. She slowly got up and stretched. "Gah, my back is killing me." She said walking downstairs trying to regain consciousnesses. "I'm coming." She said. She opened the door and surprise surprise it was Dallas.

She didn't even have to say anything she just went a laid on the couch because she was so tired. Dallas came in and shut the door. "Tired are we?" Dallas spoke. "Why the hell are you here so early?" Liberty asked. "I wanted to stop by to make sure you aren't mad at me." Dallas sat next to Liberty's feet. "So are you mad at me?" Dallas asked. Liberty sat up. "If I were mad at you I wouldn't have let you in." She said. "Makes sense, but please let me make it up for you." Dallas replied. Liberty gave him a 'not in the mood' glare. "I don't want to go to another party, if that's what your trying to get at." She replied. "No, just let me take you out for breakfast!" Dallas smiled. "Well I am hungry." Liberty responded. "Okay great!" Dallas said. "Just give me a few minutes to shower and get ready." Liberty looked at the paint on her hands and arms. "Yeah you got a little drool!!" Dallas laughed. "Why are you covered in paint?" Liberty gave him a dumbfounded look. "Because I fell asleep painting last night." Liberty said running upstairs.

While Liberty took a quick shower Dallas made his way up to her room. He looked at all the pictures she had hung up in her room, especially of one that had Liberty's dad, mom, and Liberty's younger self. It was obvious it was her because she has the same hazel green eyes. Liberty walked in almost half naked, she had a towel tightly wrapped around her body. "Oh my gosh." She blushed. "Oh sorry I won't look." Dallas said not looking at Liberty but at the picture. Liberty grabbed her clothes and went and changed in her bathroom. "What are you doing in my room?" Liberty said more confident but was still blushing. "I don't know I was curious." Dallas responded. "That's not an answer." Liberty put her hands on her hips. "Where are your parents? Why are you always home alone?" Dallas asked.

Liberty sighed. "My dad is a firefighter and he has an odd schedule so some days he is home and others he is at the fire station." Liberty said drying her brown hair with a towel. "and my mom, well she died when I was three, so it's always been my dad and I ever since." Dallas looked over at Liberty. "Oh I'm..." Dallas started. "It's okay don't worry about it." Liberty said. "I'm ready to go." Dallas looked shocked. "That fast, damn most girls take forever." Dallas replied. "I guess I'm not like most girls." Liberty responded. "Your right about that!" Dallas smiled as they walked downstairs making Liberty blush but she hid behind her wet hair.

"I am so sorry we didn't even get to finish our breakfast, time just flies by when I am with you, and I really need to run an errand." Dallas said driving back to Liberty's house. "It's fine." Liberty said. "I will make it up to you I promise." Dallas replied. "Do you really want to make it up to me?" Liberty asked tucking her hair behind her small ears. "Yes of course." Dallas replied. "Well show up at my house around seven tonight and this time we are going to do something that I find fun and interesting!" Liberty smiled for what seemed like the first time. "Okay, cool! I can't wait!" Dallas smiled back. "Okay well thanks for breakfast!" Liberty said getting out of the rustic truck. "Anytime Liberty!" Dallas said.

Dallas drove to local pharmacy with his music on low. "Hey Frank." Dallas said to the pharmacist behind the counter. "Refill?" Frank asked Dallas. "Yes." Dallas handed the bottle to Frank. Dallas had a routine of going to the pharmacy to refill him on his grandpa's medication, so they knew each other pretty well. Every now and then Dallas would check his watch for the time; a minute passed twelve o'clock, then ten, and eventually fifteen. "Here you go Dallas, sorry it took so long, there are a lot of costumers. Dallas looked around and Frank was right, there were more costumers then usual. "It's okay. How much is it?" Dallas asked. "Twenty." Frank said. Dallas grabbed his wallet and counted his money. "All I have in eleven." Dallas said. Frank gave him a sad look. "I'm sorry Dallas, I would put it on a tab but my boss is really putting down his foot about it." Frank explained. "Okay umm, here's my card." Dallas handed Frank his emergency credit card with a limited amount of money. Frank swiped his card and Dallas went on his way back home.

"Grandpa, what are you doing out of bed?" Dallas asked walking through the door. "Who are you, get out of my house or I'll call the cops." His grandpa responded. "It's me, your grandson and your not going to call the cops because you can't even remember where the phone is!" Dallas joked. "Sorry I took so long, time just flies by when I'm with Liberty." Dallas explained putting his grandpa's pills on the counter. "Who is Liberty?" His grandpa asked. "She is a friend, well she doesn't exactly consider me her friend but she will, I know she will!" Dallas smiled as he sat on his grandpa's old sofa. "You ever going to introduce me to this Liberty girl?" His grandpa asked. Dallas went quiet. "Yeah, maybe one day!" Dallas smiled.
