Liberty and Dallas were still in a three month relationship going on to four months. It was the day of the art competition and Liberty was really nervous. Her painting had been finished about two weeks ago...it was at the school along with everyone else's covered with a white sheet. She was in the truck with her dad driving to the school as the art show was about to begin. She was in a dress and she had her hair in a braid. Dallas and everyone else was already at the school. Once she arrive she went with all the other contestants on stage in front of three panel judges ,which consisted of the principle, a science teacher, and a math teacher, and they all revealed their art together.
Liberty revealed her painting...her painting of Dallas kneeling next to his grandpa who was sitting in his favorite rocking chair! Dallas' smile turned into a frown which later turned into anger. He got up from his chair and walked out putting his jacket on. Liberty's smile diminished as well as she saw him leave. After the judges took some time to look at all of them and discuss who should win they announced Liberty won! She accepted her money and stuffed the two thousand dollars into her pocket and took several pictures with the judges and art teacher. They took her painting and place it in front of the whole school so everyone could see. "Congrats Liberty!" Everyone thanked her. "Thank you." She simply responded. "We all knew you would win!" Her dad hugged her! She gave a small smile. "Nice job Liberty!" Jake said. "Thanks, uhh have you seen Dallas?" Liberty asked. "uhh I saw him walk out earlier but I haven't seen him." Jake replied. "Oh okay." Liberty turned to her dad. "Dad, I'll meet you at home later okay? I have something I have to do." Liberty said. "Uhh, okay sweetie" He kissed her forehead. "Be safe." Liberty pushed the double doors and ran to find Dallas. She had and idea he would be at the cemetery. "Dallas?" Liberty spoke softly. Dallas was sitting on the floor near his parents grave. "Why would you do that?" Dallas asked in a angry tone. "Do what?" Liberty asked not wanting to get to close to Dallas. "Paint a picture of my grandpa and I and the fact that the painting shower he had Alzehimer's disease. "Relax Dallas, no one even know's it's you or your grandpa." Liberty said touching Dallas' shoulder. "Get off of me." Dallas shrugged Liberty's hand off. "Dallas quit being angry." Liberty said getting a little sad. "I have the right to be angry. How could you do that. I didn't want anyone to find out about my grandpa or my life." Dallas screamed as they both started to cry. "Why would you think that it would be okay?" "DALLAS HE IS YOUR GRANDPA FOR CRYING OUT LOUD...WHY DO YOU CARE SO MUCH ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE THINK OF HIM...HE LOVES YOU AND YOU LOVE HIM THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS...BUT APPARENTLY ALL YOU CARE ABOUT IS YOUR STUPID FRIENDS...AND POPULARITY" Liberty screamed at Dallas as tears rolled down both of their faces. "I think we should break up..." Dallas' said crying. "Yeah, I agree. Have a nice life Dallas." Liberty said running off with tears rolling down her cheeks.
