Chapter 2 My Brother

When I turned 9 my mother had gotten pregnant. It was a bitter sweet moment because she barely took care of me and it was gonna be another priority in the house. Well he was never her priority if you let her tell it. You see my brother has down-syndrome. My mother ain't did shit for him since she had him , I think she's embarrassed of him to be honest . I'm not I treat him like mine own. "Courney!", I hear Cameron scream from the front room. I love to hear my brother say my name although he can't say it right. "what you want boo ?", I asked . "Eat",he said. I went and fixed him some instant oatmeal , it's his favorite. I let his oatmeal cool off and I sat him at the table. While he ate I walked to the back into Cam's room and picked out one of the dope ass outfits I had bought with the money I had made from work. I work part time at Rue 21. If nobody was looking fly Cam was thanks to his big sister . It was the summer and I didn't feel like being in the house all day just to see mama hoe around for cocaine, and for these no good ass niggas of hers to mistreat my brother. I went and ran his bath water. Then I went and helped Cam up from the table and cleaned up his mess. I removed his clothes and put him in the tub. He played for 10 minutes and then I bathed his body. I got him out of the tub and put his clothes on. My brother has down-syndrome but he still cute and one of the flyest boys I know don't get it twisted. He had on red True Religion pants with a white V-neck and a gold bone necklace. My brother is Cute! He was light-skinned with dimples his hair was cut into a temp fade and his natural sandy brown hair topped it off . He so skinny and bad. I turned the tv on Cartoon Network and told him to watch tv until it was time to go. I picked out an outfit to match Cam's. I got my bra and panties out and proceeded to the bathroom . I took a 20 minute shower then I did my hair. I just got my Brazilian hair sewed in with the aqua blue ends , Yasss! A bitch was looking bad. I packed Cam a bag with snacks and a few toys to keep him busy . I grabbed my purse and phone off the charger . I locked my room door because I have over $6500 saved up for emergency money and I'll be damned if she steals it and blows it on drugs. Not my money that I worked long and hard for.. I grabbed my keys and me and Cam left out of the house. We went to the Galleria. I had to buy Cam some more clothes. Well I didn't have to just wanted to , I mean I don't have no boyfriend so I'll just spoil Cameron. I took him to Foot Locker for the new Fruity Pebble Foams. I bought him some Nike pullovers and basketball shorts. We left the mall and I asked Cameron what he wants to eat "Donalds" I laughed and got in the other lane to turn into McDonald's I got his usual meal and we sat down and ate. He wanted to play in the little slides so he pulled me to the door leading to the slides. I said, " go play ", he grabbed my hands and pulled me to the slides with him. Cameron had me playing in the slides like a big ass kid. I can't lie though I was having fun. I love that lil boy ❤️
