MISSY MORENO

We were all sent to our PE room to train for upcoming battles in case there were any.

"Alright. I want you guys to complete this obstacle course. There will be holograms of fighters all over the place and you need to fight them as a team."

We lined up.

"GO!" He blew the whistle and we were off.

Wildcard and I stayed side to side and fought. I turned around and kicked with all my might, sending a hologram to the ground. We were all doing so good when the doors suddenly burst open.

"HEROICS! HEROICS!"

"Oh my gosh--" I was cut off by Wildcard pushing me out of the way as a hologram almost punched me in the face.

We leaped off the obstacle course.

"Look. Not to be rude or anything, but you guys can't--" I started.

"Missy Moreno! Is it true? You're the leader of the Heroics yet you're powerless?"

"What? Yeah I'm their leader! And the leader says get the heck out now!"

"But--"

"THIS IS A SCHOOL!"

And I shut the door right in their faces.

"Nice work," Wildcard nodded in approval.

"Aw... now lookie lookie... Marcus and Tech-no are gonna be grandparents," Facemaker made a face.

Wildcard and I shared a glance.

-FLASHBACK-

Wildcard and I were out on the rooftop of our house, gazing at the stars with a glass of pink lemonade handy right on the table.

"My dad's really happy I'm dating some girl I like now," Wildcard said, holding my hand.

"Good," I smiled, "Because I'm dating a guy I like."

"Have you ever dated?"

"Nope. Not once in my whole life."

"Why?"

"My dad's a beast when it comes to boyfriends."

"What? Then why is he okay with me dating you?"

I shifted uncomfortably.

"Oh wait... you haven't told him, have you?"

"No..." I sighed, feeling guilty, "I never told him in the first place. He asked if I liked you because he kinda knows how I look at you and... I lied and said we were just friends. I didn't want him to blow up in your face."

"But... Marcus Moreno's known me since I was in diapers. He wouldn't be as--"

"That's why I'm scared to tell him," I hissed back, "He's known your for so long, he'll most likely think of you like a son. Now imagine how weird it'd be if your son dated your daughter!"

Wildcard thought for a minute before gagging.

"Yeah, that's super weird."

"He'll freak! Then we'll never get to see each other, I'll most likely have to move out, and it'll all be a huge mess!"

"You might be overreacting just a bi--"

"I'm not overreacting. Just wait until I tell you about the time I invited a guy named Aaron over. He flipped! The only reason he let Aaron over was because he thought he was 'Erin', which is my friend's name!"

"So you're just not gonna tell him? Forever?"

"Yep. Forever."

"Okay, but it's all gonna catch up to you soon."

"Sure, sure."

"Have you told Miss Moreno?"

"Of course I've told my abuelita! Why wouldn't I tell her something like that?"

He raised and eyebrow.

"Okay, okay, I get it."

-FLASHBACK OVER-

"What are you gonna name the baby?"

"WHAT BABY?!" Wildcard and I exclaimed.

And then, the paparazzi.

"Breaking news! Missy is dating Wildcard!"

"WHAT?!" I exclaimed, staring at the news reporter, "We're not dating! GET OUT OF HERE! I told you that fifteen minutes ago!"

I slammed the door and made sure to lock it, even if you're not supposed to lock the doors when you're in class.

"They need better security," I exhaled.

"What was that all about?" A-Capella hesitated before getting down off the training set, "You and Wildcard are dating."

"Yeah... but..." I looked at the floor.

"Missy doesn't wanna tell her dad."

"Wildcard!" I slapped my hand over his mouth.

"Why wouldn't you wanna tell your dad?"

"Be--Aaron's Scarin'?" A-Capella gave me a look and I sighed, nodding.

"Who's Aaron?"

"A guy I used to like and he used to like me so I invited him over for dinner and my dad freaked because we were in fifth grade, okay? He gave that kid a wedgie!"

"Poor Aaron," Wildcard raised his eyebrows.

"Don't enjoy this! He didn't come to school because he was peeing out liquid all day!"

"That's what pee is--"

"It wasn't pee!"

"Oh ew..." everyone began to gag.

"Yeah."

___

"What's up, Wild kid?"

And there he was, walking up to us as we walked out of the gym. Ben.

"Lay off, Ben," I stood in front of Wildcard with my arms crossed.

"You just watch it, Missy," Ben raised an eyebrow. "I still haven't forgotten."

And for once, I stayed quiet. A-Capella stared at me with a knowing glance. I was too scared to say anything back.

"Can you just leave him alone?" A-Capella sighed, obviously tired from my silence.

"Hm... how about... no." Ben smirked at A-Capella.

"You're just making everyone mad," Noodles said, glaring at Ben.

"Oh and here comes flimsy noodle boy," Ben scoffed, "Who can't even hold a pencil correct--"

"You don't even know me! I hold my pencil like a normal person!"

"But you're all abnormal," he smirked.

"I'm normal," I stepped forward, not shy anymore.

"And you normal girl should probably shut your mouth before something happens," he had this glint in his eyes and A-Capella pulled me back.

"He's right," she whispered to me, "Let me handle this."

A-Capella held his shoulders and pulled him in hard.

"Listen, Ben. I don't care who you are. Or what you can do. But you never mess with my best friend or any of my other friends."

"You seemed to be okay with it--"

"Shut that mouth, Ben," I glared, "You can talk to us about it later."

"Fine," Ben raised an eyebrow, "It's time for class anyways."

I exhaled in relief.

"I still can't believe he'd still dare mess with us," Wildcard said and I was grateful he didn't understand.

Understand my hideous secret.
