Chapter 1

Ari

"Ari, why don't you just go home?" Yelled Terrance, my older brother.

"Because I want to play too! What's wrong guys, we always play together."

"Maybe that's the problem." Replied Tyler my oldest brother.

"I don't understand. We always have fun together." I say to the group but no one acknowledges me.

The youngest of my brothers, Treyce, pulls me aside and whispers in my ear. "Nathan doesn't want you playing with the boys anymore. He told us if we wanted to still play, you couldn't come."

I stop in my tracks. Nathan, the Alpha's son. Apparently, he has a hard time getting his butt kicked by a 12-year-old. Nathan is 16 along with my big brother Tyler. They have been best friends since coming out of the womb. Nathan is going to be Alpha someday and apparently, he's getting a head start on "what I say goes" mindset. Everyone knows Tyler will one day be his Beta, so I guess he's getting a head start on kissing his butt. The jerk! If he didn't want to lose to a 12-year-old "girl" maybe he should try harder.

"So yall are going to pick him over me?" I yell out. Tyler kept walking, only the twins, Terrence and Treyce stop. Both of them looking every bit alike. Giving me matching looks, pleading with me to understand. I don't, but I also don't press the issue either. I know they just want to fit in too. They just turned 14 and they enjoy hanging out with the older kids.

I turn on the heels of my feet and take off for the woods. Times like these I wish I had my wolf so I wouldn't be so alone. I have to wait until I'm 18 to get my wolf. Unless I'm one of the few lucky ones, who are blessed with a strong wolf. Then I might get mine early, so far, the youngest was 16 that I know of.

I'm not going to lie; my feelings are hurt. For as long as I can remember, me and my brothers played together. They know I don't do girly crap with the other girls. They know I don't get along with the girls in my pack. They are all busy playing with dolls or with makeup, playing dress up. Not my type of fun. I attempted to get them interested in sports, like me, but apparently the only thing that interested them about sports were the boys who played them.

I continue running through the woods at my top speed. I'm not even paying attention to how long or how far I've traveled. The only thing I'm thinking about is how my brothers pick that sore loser Nathan over their sister. When it finally registered that I might have ventured off too far. I come across a boy climbing down a tree. That's when I realized my mistake because he's definitely not a part of my pack. By the time I slow down I'm already in his line of sight. He jumps down the rest of the way and stand ups slow like a predator, I know he is.

"I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." I quickly apologize

Apparently, I crossed over the territory lines, into our neighboring pack. All he does is give me a smirk. I quickly turn to make my get away when he calls out "You're the T's little sister, aren't you?"

"The T's little sister? What are you talking about?" I ask

"You do have brothers, who all have names that start with the letter T, correct?"

I slap my hand across my forehead. I realize what he meant. "Yes. I do. I'm sorry." I reply while I slowly backed away.

"They let you out this far by yourself? He asked while taking some steps towards me. I was trying not to make eye contact with this unknown boy. Just in case he considered it a challenge.
