I think I'm about to have an anxiety attack. A real-life anxiety attack right here in the middle of Adam's party. I'm replaying the scene that just took place with Adam and Amanda. I'm far from an expert but I truly believe if I stayed there, I would have learned how babies were made.

"Ari, wait up!" Nathan calls out from across the crowd. Crap! I really don't need to be around anyone right now. I continue to make my way through the party, towards the tree line. I just want to go home and try to forget the image of Amanda dry humping Adam.

The sight of the three young men walking towards me, makes me stop dead in my tracks. Why in the heck are my brothers here? Am I dreaming? Am I currently in hell? Now that I think about it...I am starting to feel kind of hot.

Just then I'm surrounded by my three brothers and Nathan just caught up with me too.

"Hey Nate, any action so far?" Tyler asks. I see Nathan behind me shaking his head. Bringing his hand across his neck to indicate to kill the conversation.
I take a deep breath, then focus on my brothers.

"Why are you here?" I ask all of them.

Instead of answering the question Terrence asks "Why do you look like a girl?"

Treyce adds to it "Yeah, I've known you your whole life. I even think when Mom and Dad brought you home from the hospital, when you were born, you wore basketball shorts. What gives sis?"

"You know what.... I'm not dealing with this right now. I just want to go home." My attempt to get pass them failed. Nothing but brick walls of muscle. Just when I was about to start kicking them in the family jewels, I hear my name being called out. It's Adam and I see him just as I'm turning around. He's only a few steps away from me, when Nathan steps in front of me, blocking his view of me. My brothers pick up what Nathan is doing and proceeds to do the same. They're creating a wall that I can't get through. They keep pushing me behind them. I can hear Adam ask to speak to me but Nathan refuses.

"Just let me talk to Ari. This has nothing to do with you Nathan! ARI! ARI!" He attempts to yell over them. I notice a crowd is forming. They're curious about what's going on. "Ari, it's not what it looks like. I wish I could've explained this situation to you, so you could understand what's really going on." Adam finishes

Next thing I hear is Adam's dad, Alpha Blackwood, speak over the crowd. "Hello everyone. Thank you so much for joining us in celebrating my son's 18th birthday. As most of you know Adam got his wolf when he was 16. Even so we gather here tonight, to celebrate his first time participating in a pack run. We invite everyone to join. But tonight, is a very special night, not just because of my son's 18th birthday. We're also celebrating his intended ceremony with the lovely Amanda from the River Ridge pack." Cheering surrounds, me, as the blood in my head starts to pound. I noticed then I was having a hard time to breathing.

I hear Tyler say " The boys in this town lost a good one. We will truly miss her."

Terrence adds "I'm just going to miss her mouth. Nothing more."

"Guys just give your congratulations. So, we can get Ari home." I notice Nathan leans closer to Adam to say "You're welcome by the way. We taught her everything she knows." Before Adam could reply his dad calls him over to the stage where Amanda is already waiting with a smile. When Adam doesn't automatically come Alpha Blackwood calls out to him again, this time with the Alpha command laced with it. "Adam get over here now." Just then I looked up and I'm able to make eye contact with him. He looks so broken, lost, scared even. I feel my heart squeeze. I can tell he's fighting the command. He's trying to stay here and speak to me. But do I even want to listen? Apparently, this situation is out of both of our control and it's already set in motion. He's looking at me, like he can find the solutions to all his problems in my eyes.
