Chapter 14 Adam

It's been less than 24 hours since I saw Ari's heart break before my eyes. My wolf is raging inside me, he refuses to see reason. I had to hurt her, for Amanda to believe the spell worked. It made me sick having that slut touch me. She keeps trying to get into my bed. Luckily, I thought quick on my feet. I told her my father commanded me to be respectful towards her in all ways and consummating our mating bond before our mating ceremony would be disrespectful to her. The dumb bitch bought it. It's not like she's going to question my dad about it. Well, hopefully she's not that desperate.

Going back to a few nights ago, I remember waking up in my bed, after passing out. I panicked, everything from the previous night flooded my brain. I searched my room to assure I was alone. My whole body was killing me. I thinking this was one of the worst ones to date. My attention was drawn to my wrist. I felt buring, where my bracelet is at. My best friend Seth made me this bracelet several years ago, the same friend who made the tree house for me. He instructed me to never take it off, it protects me from harmful magic. It's special because it's a part of him. Him and his parents bounded it with power magic, apparently it worked. I look over at my phone. Crap, I've slept almost the whole day away. It's already close to 2 in the afternoon. I see I have about 20 missed calls from Seth. I quickly call him back.

"HELLO ADAM! ARE YOU OK?" Seth answers the phone in a panic.

"Yes, I'm ok. Only because of you and your bracelet you made me" I stated, peeping out my door, to make sure no one's listening.

"Yeah, that's why I'm calling. I felt you were in trouble. The bracelet called to me. There was power magic involved, what happened?"

"My dad is what happened."

"I should've cursed him when I had the chance. It's not too late, if you bring me something of his...hair...blood. We can make it happen."

"I might have to take you up on your offer. He's crossed the line this time." I stated

"Are you going to tell me what happened to you?" He asks

"I honestly don't know. We were having one of our weekly meetings and things kinda escalated. He started talking about how I can't mess up his plans with Amanda's father, Alpha Lance. He also brought up some mysterious plan regarding Ari. When I asked him to leave her alone, he flipped. Next thing I know I'm half unconscious with Amanda, Alpha Lance and some Mage. They took my blood from my wounds and did some type of crazy shit with it. Then Amanda put this necklace on me..." I pause, bringing my fingers up, to touch the pendant on my chest. "I passed out afterwards and ended up in my bed. Luckily without Amanda in it." I finish

"You need to get out of there. It's only a matter of time before they realize their spell didn't work."

"I can't leave my mom, he has her locked up. Besides I need to find out what plans he has for Ari. Maybe if they think I'm under their spell, they might get comfortable around me and let some information slip"

"It's risky"

"I know, but I didn't go through years of his abuse just to ran away now. I'm going to stay and fight this out for Ari, my mom and the pack."

I'm brought out of my memory by a commotion coming from my brother's room. I quickly head over to check on him. When I arrive, I see his room is a complete disaster. His bed is flipped over, other items thrown recklessly across the room. I see him standing rigid, in front of his window, with his hands resting on the window sill. I see he has his head leaning against the cool glass. It almost appears like he's trying to calm himself down. I quietly make my way towards him, even though I know, he knows I'm here.

"Connor. What's wrong?" I ask him

"I thought I had a chance." Connor replies, not removing his head or hands from the window.
