She groaned out of frustration after Severus still locked himself away in his bedroom. The now cold food and tea was on the same place as half an hour ago and (Y/N) had already washed her plate and cuppa. She decided it was enough right now and that Severus had enough time to act immature so it was over now. She was done playing games and knocked on the door, with no answer like half an hour ago.

'For fucks sake Snape! I'm going to come in.' She opened the door which was surprisingly unlocked and let her eyes fall on the big bed in the middle, expecting Severus to lay on it. However, it was empty and so was the rest of the room. She furrowed her eyebrows and called his name once more, waiting for a reply. He couldn't have just left the room could he? He wouldn't leave her alone like that, but maybe she was wrong. In the corner of her eyes (Y/N) saw a piece of parchment on the desk with a quill next to it.

She stalked over to the desk and took the parchment in her hand before placing her hand in front of her mouth.

I've been summoned by the Dark Lord. Don't expect me back until tomorrow.

She almost slapped herself against the face. How could she be so stupid to really think he would ignore her. After all, Severus was the most mature person she had ever met and ignoring someone wasn't something he would do.

(Y/N) hoped he would return soon, better said: she hoped he would still be able to walk once he got back. It was no secret that Voldemort didn't treat his followers as good as others would. She had seen some days where Snape would be teaching class, looking exhausted and hurt even though he camouflaged it perfectly for someone not to notice. However, if you were like (Y/N) you would see those kinds of things and she always wondered whether he was summoned. She sat down on the couch, staring at the bright fire in the fireplace while nervously playing with the hem of her shirt. She knew sitting like this wasn't going to bring Severus back any sooner and decided to do a little cleaning. It wasn't long before she exhausted herself and did her nightly routine and went to sleep. Falling asleep was hard even though she was tired.
Her mind kept going back to Severus and what may be going on there. The thoughts got worse and worse while thinking about every possible way for Voldemort to have figured out her 'death'. (Y/N) was afraid that he may lose his position as a double spy which was one of the biggest pro's they had in this war. It was a way to win.

She tossed and turned around, grunting in frustration and buried her head in the pillow. Soon sleep overcame her and her surroundings went dark.

A loud bang interrupted (Y/N)'s peaceful, yet light, sleep. The first thing that occurred to her was the question whether it was morning already. A few seconds went by and she opened her eyes to see the room pitch black except for a few shadows made by the furniture around the room. Immediately the memories from yesterday came flowing back and she quickly pulled her sheets off and scrambled on her legs while almost falling from the haste.

'Se-Snape?'

It remained quiet so (Y/N) opened her bedroom door to see a faint light coming from the living room. It could easily be some intruder, for example a death eater, but she took a chance and went anyway. It didn't matter as long as she knew what happened to Snape and prayed silently for his well-being. There were two candles lit which gave enough light for her to see the room clear enough. (Y/N) scanned the living room area for a sign of life, hopefully a sign of Snape's life, and saw a hunched figure half blocked from her view by the couch. A mumbling sound came from the figure that was on his knees on the floor, still in the same position. She rushed over to him and casted lumo for her to see the figure better which was indeed Snape.

'Oh merlin,' she gasped after the state was easier to see. His mask was a couple of feet apart from him. His death eater robes he had to wear for meetings were crumpled. Severus' face was pale and had heavy bags under his eyes. He tried to stand up but failed almost immediately with a broken sob. (Y/N) tried to look for injuries but there were none visible even though something must have happened because he wouldn't be on the floor if the situation was different.

'I-I'm fine,' he whispered to fill the silent, empty room.

'You don't look fine.' Her voice was full of worry and was a bit louder than necessary. Even in this state he couldn't accept her help and leave his stubbornness and pride behind for a second. There was no response and she removed his outer robes, then his pants left him with his boxers and shirt.

'I'm fine,' he repeated, his voice also slightly raising.

'Don't be so goddamn stubborn.' (Y/N) touched his shoulder and felt the shaking from his body.

'Crusio curse.' She nodded, knowing there was nothing to stop the aftershocks and went back to inspecting his leg which was laying in an odd angle. Severus coughed with trouble.

'There's a potion in my laboratory on the desk. It's easy to detect which one.' (Y/N) knew this was her que to pick up the potion and rush back to the figure on the hard, stone floor. It was risky to go out of the rooms which technically wasn't allowed according to Dumbledore's orders but she had to.

She returned and handed Snape the potion. He downed it in one second and wiped the back of his hand over his mouth to remove the liquid he spilled. His body was still shaking violently and she couldn't imagine wanting to know how long he must be under the curse to experience such long and heavy aftershocks. She had never been on the crucio curse but she heard from others how it felt and he must have been under it for about an hour or something. She shook her head in order to get rid of her thoughts and helped the man up to his feet.

'Bed?' She asked. He nodded and supported his weight on (Y/N) with his arm around her neck and her hand grasping his waist tightly. He remained silent the entire time she took off his clothes except for his briefs. (Y/N) had to stop her curiosity and let her questions hang until tomorrow morning. She hesitantly gave a soft and quick kiss on his forehead before exiting the room.
